Beyonce and Jay-Z leave hospital with daughter Blue Ivy

(CBS) Baby Blue has left the building.

Jay-Z and Beyonce departed New York City's Lenox Hill Hospital Tuesday with their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.

Officials at the hospital confirmed the family's departure, according to the New York Daily News.

The paper reports that a procession of vehicles with blacked-out windows exited the hospital's side gate at 1:30 a.m. ET. Two black SUVs were also seen leaving the facility's loading dock, with one reportedly blocking traffic so another van could leave unimpeded.

The couple welcomed the baby girl on Saturday. "Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven," they said in a statement. "She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives."

No more than a few days old, Blue Ivy has already made an impact on her father's music - on Monday, he released a song entitled "Glory," that expressed his joy at being a father. A baby's cries can be heard at the end of the track.

by peacefulperson January 11, 2012 8:24 AM EST: I wonder how they would cope with just being real parents and not celebs with entourages and nannies. I feel sorry for them that they will not know the joys of taking their kid to the park or the library for storytime or dairy queen and stand in line for ice cream on a hot summer day. No public pool, no playing in the spray of an open fire hydrant, no playing little league, no standing watching the giraffes at the zoo for hours. I'm going to pray that despite having celebrity parents, this child will have a nanny that will help her grow up with natural experiences and love in her heart.; Reply to this comment
