Lady Gaga's workshop takes over Barneys' fifth floor

(CBS) On the first day of Christmas, Lady Gaga gave to me a $15 hand-decorated cookie.

It's all about the 12 Days of Gaga at Barneys in New York this holiday season. Starting this week, the pop star is taking over the fifth floor of the retailer's flagship store on Madison Avenue in New York.

Part of Barneys' holiday shop, Gaga's 5,500-square -foot display resembles Santa's workshop, but Gaga style. Each day, a new limited edition item is available for purchase, with 25 percent of sales going to the singer's anti-bullying Born This Way Foundation.

There are all sorts of items available, ranging from a $95 chocolate shoe to a necklace made of crystal and jet beads that costs $1,630.

Gaga was on hand Monday night to cut the ribbon for the workshop's grand opening. "Oh, it's fun," she said, according to the New York Times. "It's the dream of what music and culture are all about, and those are things that can get lost when you focus too much on commercialism. This is, for me, a much more whimsical approach, a Pop Art approach."

Many celebrities, including Neil Patrick Harris and Blake Lively, attended the opening night at Barneys. The workshop will be open through Jan. 2.

Gaga will continue spreading holiday cheer this week. She hosts a Thanksgiving special on ABC Thursday night at 9:30/P.M. ET

"I love to be with my family ... We love to eat all day long. ... Watch old movies. And talk about the year," she said, according to USA Today.
