"South Park" renewed for three more seasons

(Credit: Comedy Central)(CBS/AP) NEW YORK - Cartman, Kyle, Kenny, Stan and the rest of the "South Park" gang will be making mischief for three more seasons.
Comedy Central says co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have signed to extend the animated series through its 20th season in 2016.

The network announced Wednesday that Parker and Stone will continue to write, direct and edit every episode of "South Park," just as they have since its premiere in 1997.
"The collective genius of Matt and Trey knows no bounds," said Comedy Central president Michele Ganeless in a news release. "Week after week and season after season they continue to surprise and delight 'South Park' fans."
"Comedy Central has been our home for 15 years and we love working there," Parker and Stone said. "'South Park' is a blast and we can't wait to make more."
Earlier this year, the duo met with tremendous success on Broadway with their hit musical, "The Book of Mormon," which won nine Tony Awards.
