Chris Daughtry to sing at Game 7 of World Series

(CBS/AP) Chris Daughtry of Dauhtry will sing the national anthem at the final game of the World Series.

Game 7 between the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium in St. Louis will determine this year's MLB champion. Game 6 ended in a nail-biting surprise comeback. St. Louis rallied at the bottom of the 11th inning to win 10 to 9.

The rocker is best known for being a finalist on "American Idol." fAfter he was voted off the fifth season of "American Idol," he started the band Daughtry. Their 2006 album, "Daughtry" went triple-platinum.

Grammy-nominated country singer David Nail will sing "God Bless America" before the game.

Other singers featured in the series have included Zooey Deschanel and recent "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery, who forgot some of the lyrics and was forced to restart due to a microphone malfunction during his performance.

Please get your facts straight,,,Scotty did not forget the lyrics! His accent and annunciation came into play, thats all. His label, Mercury Nashville denied that he "flubbed" the lyric. Give the kid a break,,,his rendition was beautiful and heart-felt and lyrically correct! CBS, you are a reputable news organization; please do not blindly take the word of random bloggers.
