(CBS) Actor Alec Baldwin and conservative blogger Michelle Malkin got into a heated feud on Twitter over the execution of Troy Davis.

The two began exchanging words after Davis, a convicted killer who maintained his innocence, died by lethal injection on Wednesday night.

Here are a few of their exchanges:

Malkin: "Waiting for Hollyweirdo @alecbaldwin 's 'I am Troy Davis' tweet..."

Baldwin: "Davis is dead Does that make you happier, @michellemalkin?"

Baldwin: "Everyone tweet that great thinker @michellemalkin and ask her what killing a potentially innocent man does to make you safer."

Malkin: "@AlecBaldwin Direct your minions' ire/rage/profanity/racism/sexism at the US Supreme Court, not me."

Baldwin:: "C'mon!! Let's go all Town Hall on that supreme thinker@michellemalkin. A world class, crypto fascist hater!"

Baldwin: "I wonder if @michellemalkin will push the needle in herself on a man the former FBI director said might have reasonable doubt on his side."

Baldwin: "Every sensible American is appalled when police officer is killed. But the attendant charges are grave. U don't want 2 kill an innocent man."

Malkin: "ICYMI: Here's @alecbaldwin dragging the MacPhail family into his Bush Derangement Syndrome rant http://is.gd/J7Oucx."

Baldwin wasn't the only celebrity to complain about Davis' execution. Kim Kardashian was one of the other stars who took to her Twitter account to discuss the news.

She tweeted: "Such an injustice!!!! Troy Davis was executed! My prayers are with the Davis Family! #RIPTroyDavis."

I can't stand that pushed-in face bee-otch.

She is exactly what Alec Baldwin and others have called her: A bought and paid-for soul-less minion for the New World Order.

Keep exposing this nasty little pug face.

Is Michelle Malkin, like, in the sixth grade or something? I mean, I expect this type of discourse from a Hollywood actor, but a purportedly serious political news bloviator/commentator? This certainly adds weight to her credibility, doesn't it? "Hollyweirdo"? "Slime"? Grow up, Michelle.

Whatever happened to civility in discourse? Both the parties above seem to think that name-calling and endorphin-rush-producing holier-than-thou behavior makes their position more credible. Not so. What I have found is that when these behaviors are engaged in, they are frequently a substitute for rational argument. Grow up, both of you.

No gun, no DNA, no physical evidence. 7 of 9 witnesses recant. Numerous law enforcement officials opposed the execution -- far from bleeding-heart liberals.

According to conservatives, the governemnt can do nothing right. That is, except the death penalty. In that case, government never makes a mistake.

Over 270 prisoners have been freed due to DNA evidence, about 160 of those were black. Seven of the 270 freed were on death row.

How many years has all this been going on. It almost sounds as if most of the noise makers got involved in the last 24 hrs before the execution. Somewhere, I feel the guy need a new lawyer, if he did nothing all those years or only had a small enough claim, that the Supreme Court would not listen.

I'm not against the death penalty, however I am against putting an innocent person to death. Nine witnesses re-canted their testimony. There was no physical evidence linking Davis to the crime.

RealiteBites,
No genius, murderers don't usually video tape their crimes, but you don't have to video tape physical evidence for there to be some. BTW...reality is spelled...well like...reality. Michelle Malkin like most ignorant Republicans, as evidenced by a lot of the comments left on here, thinks her opinion is the only one that counts. So Alec Baldwin is against the death penalty, so what. That's his right, as it is her's to be for it. With all of the innocent people that have been freed from prison in recent years because of the science of DNA now available, is it really out of the realm of possiblity that this man could have been innocent? God forbid Malkin, or some of you other idiots posting on here find yourself in that position one day. Better one thousand guilty men go free, than one innocent man be put to death.

Give me a name of a convicted murder you think deserves/deserved to die via lethal injection.

From your defensive tone, I obviously struck a nerve - I think you're a liar.

"Better one thousand guilty men go free, than one innocent man be put to death."... Bullcrap! When those freed guilty end up slaughtering thousands of innocent, your argument seems lame.

Let's see, he currently has a job on one of the most critically acclaimed sitcoms in history. Maybe you were just too busy watching "walker, Texas Ranger" reruns to notice.
