Madonna hates hydrangeas

(CBS) An open microphone picked up Madonna saying "I absolutely loathe hydrangeas" after a fan gave her one at the Venice Film Festival.

In a video that's gone viral, the fan wishes Madonna luck. She accepts the flower, smiling, then moves it off camera. Then the microphone in front of her picks up the remark.

She adds a moment later, "He obviously doesn't know that."

As of this writing, the video has nearly 1.5 million hits on YouTube with about 1,100 dislikes and 615 likes.

"She's entitled to like any flower she wants and she didn't want to hurt the feeling of the hydrangeas of the world," said a representative of Madonna's, according to CNN. "No disrespect to the hydrangeas lovers of the world but she prefers different types of flowers."

Sure she's entitled but she has no class to say this out loud after someone gave her hydrangeas. Celebrities like her don't deserve fans if that's her response. I mean, how was this person supposed to know her flower preferences? Millions of people love hydrangeas.

Amazing I've gotten this far in life without knowing this. That said...

Not here to defend Madonna one way or the other, and personally I like hydrangeas (I loathe poison ivy), but I disagree about your "no class" remark (she may have no class but not because of her comment). I don't see what the big deal is. She accepted the hydrangea graciously and thanked the giver. To her confidants she gave the eye roll and made the comment, not aware it was being picked up on video or audio. Presidents, Vice Presidents, and members of Congress have done worse.

Oh please I'm so sick for hearing about Charley Sheen, Lindsay Lohan and Paris(skank) Hilton. Even though this story has to be one of the worst stories to read. I don't want to hear about these three losers either. Oh I forgot to add, the Kardashians.
