"The Hunger Games" preview to debut during VMAs
Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth) in "The Hunger Games."
(Credit: Lionsgate)(CBS) Fans of "The Hunger Games" will get their first look at the book's big-screen adaptation this weekend.
A preview of the film will be shown at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards.

Jennifer Lawrence, who plays heroine Katniss Everdeen in the film, will introduce the clip, along with Suzanne Collins, who wrote the bestselling trilogy.
"The Hunger Games" film hits theaters on March 23, 2012.
The VMAs be broadcast live on Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT. Performers are set to include Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Lady Gaga, Adele, Bruno Mars and Chris Brown.
