You know what the world needs? A sitcom based on the mediocre (at best) 2003 Adam Sandler film "Anger Management." And you know who needs to star in it? Mr. Tiger Blood himself, Charlie Sheen.

Sheen, who was fired from "Two and a Half Men" in March, is planning a return to series television in "Anger Management," a new sitcom based on the 2003 film of the same name.

With no network currently in place, the new series will be produced by Lionsgate Television and shopped to prospective broadcast and cable networks by Lionsgate subsidiary Debmar-Mercury, the company announced Monday.

No co-stars or production start date were disclosed.

The 45-year-old Sheen will have a "significant ownership stake" in the series, Lionsgate said.

Not only that, but, as Sheen noted in the statement, he will have "a certain amount of creative control."

"I chose 'Anger Management' because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept," he said.

In the film, which starred Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler, a mild-mannered man is ordered to attend group anger-management sessions led by a therapist who needs therapy himself.

In May, Ashton Kutcher was announced to replace Sheen in "Men," TV's most-watched sitcom, which returns this fall for its ninth season.

I *really* don't understand all the hate for Charlie. He's been like this for...well, forever. I thought everyone already accepted it. All of a sudden, he acts like himself, and no one can take it. I don't get it. Sure, you can say he's ruining his life, but it is *his* life.

In an earlier post, I said that Lionsgate was here, in Canada, but I just found out that they moved to Santa Monica! Yahooooooo! No Charlie in Canada!

It will be interesting to see if the cast and production crew will be able to tell when Charlie is in character or being himself on the set. To give Charlie Sheen power and control is like giving a monkey a loaded gun.

Are kidding me? Anger Management is one of the funniest movies I've seen in "recent" time. Along with Rat Race, they are just hillarious movies. Jack Nicholson is great! Luis Guzman and John Torturro are just to die for. If you or CBS has an understandable feud against Charlie Sheen , don't take it against the movie. Please!

It's just another proposed pilot of which they shoot dozens each season. It doesn't mean it's going to be picked-up by a network and become a show. Charlie's recent track record might isn't going to help. I have mixed feelings about Sheen as I can't respect someone who pi$$es away a career on drugs. However,I don't wish him ill. Who knows, with all the garbage on TV these days they might just make room for this.

It won't make him any less of a LOSER than he already is.

Think about it: would you be interested in co-starting with a LOSER who you already know is psychotic and liable to be carted off to another mental institution (with production of your series cancelled) at any time?

I'd be willing to bet that some LOSER television network in this country (like Fox) would be willing to bet on at least one season, to pander to the brainless morons that seem to find watching Charlie self-destruct funny.

Then Charlie will go psycho in the middle of the first season again, the series will get cancelled, his co-stars will be out of work, well...we all know the drill by now.

So a network is going to pay for his real life therapy?

Sheen only got his opportunities because of his daddy. When I saw Wall Street and Charlie had a major role in it, his entire acting was contrived and totally non-existent. His TV character mirrored his life of lust, booze and addiction. He wasn't funny or talented.
