CLEVELAND (CBS/AP) Lady Gaga's famous meat dress - treated by a California taxidermist - has joined the displays at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, hall spokeswoman Margaret Thresher said Thursday.

The dress is being displayed as part of the "Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power'' exhibit, which runs until February 2012.

The outfit, made of raw Argentinian beef, made history at last year's MTV Video Music Awards as the inventive songstress turned butcher's cuts into high fashion.

Thresher said the dress was kept in a meat locker, placed in a vat of chemicals and then dried out by taxidermists in California before being transported to the museum. Thresher said the dress took on a "dark, beef-jerky'' look while dehydrating, so it was painted to look like fresh meat afterwards. The entire process took several months to complete.

Gaga later explained that the dress was meant to say: "I am not a piece of meat." Unless you fight for your rights, she said, you risk ending up like a slab of meat.

Just checked the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website. The Turtles are NOT even in it, and they had one of the biggest hit of the 1960s - "Happy Together"

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will not induct the Monkees, the Beau Brummels, or Paul Revere and the Raiders, but it will display Lady Gaga's meat dress. Another reason why this organization should be called the Rock and Roll Hall of SHAME!!!!
