Ricki Lake to release memoir
Ricki Lake
/ CBS/The Early ShowThe actress and talk show host signed with Atria Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
The company says that the book will be "a raw and emotional ride through the glum and the glamour."
Lake, now 42, has starred in such films as "Cry-Baby" with Johnny Depp and the original "Hairspray." She also hosted her own talk show from 1993-2004.
The memoir will likely talk about her personal issues with her weight, and past sexual abuse, which she has spoken openly about before. As of now, the memoir does not have a title.
Lake is also debuting a new talk show to air next fall.
Simon & Schuster and CBS are owned by the same parent company.
