Bristol Palin's teen pregancy work brings in $262,000

(CBS/AP) Who says work in the non-profit sector doesn't pay?

Tax documents show unwed mother Bristol Palin earned more than $262,000 for her role helping raise awareness for teen pregnancy prevention in 2009.

The most recent data for The Candie's Foundation that's posted online by research firm GuideStar shows compensation at $262,500 for the now-20-year-old daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee.

According to the tax forum, the organization delivered  a total of $35,000 in grants, supporting the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center in New York ($25,000) and the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy ($10,000).  

Bristol Palin was 18 when she was appointed as a teen ambassador for the New York-based foundation in 2009, months after giving birth to son, Tripp. She and the 2-year-old boy's father are no longer together.

Palin family attorney John Tiemessen and foundation officials did not immediately return calls for comment.

Palin is still listed as an ambassador on the foundation's website. The blog Palingates first reported the compensation figure.

Palin, who recently bought a home in Arizona, also competed last year in "Dancing With the Stars" last fall and made it into the finals.

As long as the media is doing some critical thinking about the Palins, how about : Sarah Palin is a rabid advocate against a woman's right to choose, yet she had an amniocentesis before the birth of her child....When a woman has an amnio after thirty, she is running a serious risk of damaging the fetus,,,,Why would a right to lifer run that risk unless she wanted to have the right to choose ? Yet, this question has not been addressed in almost four years ! If she runs, won't this be an issue ?

She should be working a normal job, going to school and raising her child like the millions of other struggling, single mothers in the world. She needs to get off the speaking circuit where she spews her "life is so hard" speeches and then jumps into a private plane and heads home. What this article does not report is this non-profit foundations tax report shows it only gave 60,000 to actual people or organizations in need, and everything else they took in was to pay themselves and Palin. It is a sham charity.

Serial killers can now campaign and have others "learn" from their experience and make $260,000 a year so that others won't become serial killers.
