Richard Hatch battles David Cassidy and Jose Canseco on "Celebrity Apprentice"

(CBS) -- Richard Hatch squared off against Jose Canseco and David Cassidy Sunday night on the debut episode of a new season of "The Celebrity Apprentice," setting up what could be a season-long feud. (SPOILER ALERT)

Pictures: "Celebrity Apprentice"

To begin, the teams were divided into men vs. women with Richard Hatch and Star Jones taking on the roles of project managers for a task that involved selling pizza.

The women's team, which sold the most pizza, won, although they failed to deliver pizza on time to firefighters in Chelsea, thus losing a $35,000 donation to their total take.

That money instead was given to the Red Cross, the charity of supermodel Niki Taylor, unanimously chosen by her teammates as the person who worked the hardest on the task (she made the pizzas).

But the fireworks came in the boardroom when Canseco and Cassidy attacked Hatch for what they said was his arrogance, disrespect, lying and abusive behavior.

Cassidy, the actor and singer and father of actress Katie Cassidy (who made a cameo), accused the winner of the first "Survivor" show of pushing and shoving him. Hatch denied it but former baseball great Canseco backed Cassidy up.

Though most of the men's team thought Hatch should be fired, host Donald Trump ousted Cassidy, saying he lacked the conviction and passion of some of his other teammates.

Going forward, look for Hatch to make more waves and expect to see some fireworks between actress Lisa Rinna and Jones, the lawyer and TV personality who led their team to victory.

Iam not a big fan of David Cassidy but he did nothing wrong and should not of been fired. Mr Trump did wrong on firing David. Richard Hatch is not a celebrity he should not even be on the show.

I hate it anyway when the Trumps say, "You aren't fighting for it." - This is why they say women make better leaders than men, you will rarely hear that from a woman (unless raised by barbarians). You don't have to be a bully to be a leader (e.g., Nelson Mandela). David was right when he said Mr. Trump was making a mistake. I am not watching this season. There are plenty of shows to choose from on Sunday nites!!

What happened to Jose's website http://www.JoseCanseco.com I want to buy some Jose Canseco stuff. Why is he selling it for less than they were selling a slice of pizza. I hope he does not let Richard Hatch buy it.

I was appalled at what I saw on Celebrity Apprentice last night. Richard Hatch's comments to Jose; his bullying of David Cassidy; his physical pushing etc. Even more so I was shocked to see Donald Trump allow such behaviour by allowing Hatch to stay on. In addition, I was sad to his Donald's daughter make her own comments! She is a mother! For shame, for shame! You could see the trimuph in Richard's eyes! Two things- we are trying to raise awareness and stamp out bullying- what is Donald thinking? He should be supporting zero tolerance on his show. Second- in a world where so many organizations are fighting for our donor dollars- why would Grassroots Soccer, a charity for children, ever want to be associated with a bully like Richard! If I had the money and the power, I would say- here is a huge donation- ban Richard from the Charity and the show! Hats off to Jose! If I was on that show- I would walk off. Make a statement! Stand up for integrity and equity for all!

I absolutely agree with your comments. In past episodes Donald would say to the project manager that it was up to them to raise money, bring the team together...etc. He would hold them responsible for the teams' loss and say "you're fired"..but in this case he let the project manager stay that was rude, arrogant, self absorbed, loud and a huge bull s...talker. I didn't think David did anything wrong by looking at Jose. He was showing that he had proof as to how Richard was. My honest opinion is that Donald let Richard stay because he thinks it will make good ratings to have a feud between Richard and Jose. I thought it was terrible to let David go. Did anyone else notice how Richard wasn't even doing anything...If I watch again it will only be to give the others a chance.

Richard Hatch is not a celebrity, what is he doing on the show? David Cassidy was a true gentleman and spoke up when Richard pushed him and was disrespectful. I'll admit, I'm a big David Cassidy fan and I'm disappointed he was the first celebrity kicked off. I was going to watch Celebrity Apprentice ONLY because David Cassidy was on the show. Now I don't care. David Cassidy has millions of fans, Richard Hatch doesn't have any. If Donald Trump was smart and cared about ratings, he would have kept David on the show. Afterall, isn't that what the show is all about? RATINGS? Richard Hatch is an ass and I hope he's gone soon.
