Charlie Sheen: I'm returning to work despite shutdown

(CBS) In the continuing saga that is Charlie Sheen, the actor tells "Good Morning America" that he'll show up for work even though CBS pulled the plug on production for "Two and Half Men" for the rest of the season.

In recent interviews, Sheen has claimed that he's completely clean after entering rehab in his home.

Sheen communicated with "GMA" Friday via text message, in which he called show co-creator Chuck Lorre a "loser" and a "clown."

"Two and a Half Men" has been on hiatus since Sheen ended up in the hospital in January. After a rant-filled interview with Alex Jones on Thursday, CBS and Warner Bros. Television halted production of the series for the rest of the season.

Sheen hasn't said specifically why Lorre has been at the receiving end of the actor's vitriol in the past couple days, but there's speculation that it has something to do with a vanity card that aired at the end of the Feb. 14 episode of "Two and a Half Men."

Lorre uses the space to air his opinion on a multitude of topics. The card after that episode reads, "I exercise regularly. I eat moderate amounts of healthy food. I make sure to get plenty of rest. I see my doctor once a year and my dentist twice a year. I floss every night. I've had chest x-rays, cardio stress tests, EKG's and colonoscopies. I see a psychologist and have a variety of hobbies to reduce stress. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. I don't have crazy, reckless sex with strangers.

"If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I'm gonna be really pissed."

Lorre has since stopped writing personal messages on the vanity cards and replaced his notes with pictures of his body parts, including his elbow and a knuckle.

I Support Charlie Sheen and my reason is as follows how many of u out there drink? Smoke? Eat certain foods? Now if a company tells u u cant do these things hows that right? When u work u work and he does his job. Yes he admits that he miss practice but before u try and judge how many of u have missed work before? For CBS to turn around and do what they did to him is wrong!!!!! Ive been screwed over by a company like this before and its not right and im sure others have also. When a person goes to work they go there to work when they are off the clock the company has no impact on what they do with there life. Company's that try and control how a person's life is sad and pathetic. And for those of u who disagree how would u like it if a company said no u cant work here cause u have kids or no u cant work here cause u bought a toyota. You may say thats diffrent but in reality its not he has high ratings and is bringing in the money for the company, His actions does not affect his work cause the company gave him a raise. So tells u something right there. Now i will state this and it may make people mad but its the fact. If u dont like it dont watch it.But just like the late howard stern was where u like him or hate him u still tune in to see whats next and who makes the money the company. So if Charlie Sheen u read this i support u totally and the more they run ur name down the more the price goes up. But remeber one thing Charlie. If 10 years from now cbs trys to get u on there network in a show or a box office hit dont forget remeber what they did and stand by ur beliefs. This what makes this country so great a person can stand by there beliefs and still be who they are we aint robots to be told how we are to do anything. SO GOOD LUCK CHARLIE AND IM PULLING FOR YOU AND LOVE THE COMMENT ON THE AA HANDBOOK WAY TO STICK IT TO THEM!!!

Sheen's addictions have now turned into mental illness. That cannot be cured with rehab. He's needs serious detox in a hospital with medical doctors to make sure he gets clean and sober. Cocaine, hookers, porn, alcohol, sex, lies, rants, accusations, etc. are all part of the addictions that now define him as a person.

I do not watch the show, so I am glad that CBS has cancelled the rest of the season. From what I have seen of the "hi-lights" on the commercials, Charlie is basically playing himself, so he's not even acting. Hopefully, the show will be cancelled entirely as Charlie seems to think the world revolves around him. I do feel sorry for the others on the set, and their loss of a job, but nobody deserves to be paid almost 2 million per episode. To flaunt his drinking, drug addiction and his non-existant "morals",and vacation with his ex-wife and kids and bring along the latest girlfriend and another porn star is really sick. The end of charlie sheen cannot come soon enough.

Part of his problem is that he is playing himself. He can't get away from it. If you have a drug and alcohol problem, the very last thing you should be doing is playing that part. Of course, with him, he's also very sick in the head, so it probably wouldn't make any difference even if he wasn't.

It's kinda like Lindsay Lohan playing the part of Linda Lovelace. She was addicted too, I think. So that is the last part Lindsay should play.

As long as these two are in this business, they will never get better.

it's good that you're not judgmental ... don't wish for negative things upon others ... and have an open mind towards those that aren't like you.

Anyone ever see "Valley of the Dolls?" When Neeley Ohara gets totally blasted then goes to the stage door and bangs on it screeching, "Hey, Where is everybody? I'm ready for work!" This is gonna be Charlie.

Why doesn't CBS replace Sheen, it is the other actors that make the show so irresestible. The housekeeper, the brother, the nephew. Surely it would be easy to replace the straight guy, drunk playboy. I like the show but like it just as well when Sheen isn't in the scenes.

Sheen is the Gadhafi of Hollywood . . . out of touch with the real world. He sounds like all he thinks about is himself, and, he has not an inkling about how small and insignificant his world is. There are a lot bigger problems in the world than anything this spoiled brat knows about. He could stand to grow up and get a real life, but at this point, I do not see him doing anything worth a plug nickel that the real world really cares about. .

I'm sure ol' Charlie angered a number of AA members with his little rant but then, in the meantime, we will have a little fun and entertainment value watching him thrash around until he figures it out.
