Lil' Wayne Getting Out of Jail, Set to Party

Rapper Lil' Wayne is set to walk out of New York City's infamous Rikers Island prison Thursday morning after serving an eight months on a weapons charge, and his friends are reportedly planning an "elegant, extravagant" evening of celebration and strippers to welcome him home.

The platinum-selling, billboard topping (even during his stint in Rikers) MC, born Dwayne Carter Jr., pleaded guilty in 2009 to possessing a loaded gun on his tour bus in Manhattan. He started serving a one-year sentence in March.

He's expected to get out early because of time off for good behavior, despite the electronic contraband that landed him in solitary confinement for the last month of his term: a charger and headphones for a digital music player were found in his cell, jail officials said. (He acknowledged the misstep on his blog.)

In an interview aired Wednesday with MTV, Young Money records president Mack Maine said a party was being planned for this Sunday in Miami to help the rapper readjust to normal life on the outside.

"It should be a lot of beautiful women, just ... beautiful scenery. Just treat him like a king, like the royalty that he is and make him feel like we really missed him and welcome him back to the family," Maine told MTV.

The record label boss, who MTV says is also a close personal friend of Lil' Wayne, said after a private party, the entourage would move to a strip club called King of Diamonds in Florida's party capital.

Lil' Wayne joined a roster of successful rappers who have spent time behind bars, a list that has muddied the line between art and life in a genre that arose from inner-city streets and often chronicles crime and violence. Big names including Tupac Shakur, Lil' Kim, Foxy Brown, Shyne, Mystikal, Gucci Mane and T.I. have been incarcerated for periods ranging from months to years.

Several rappers have put out albums while locked up; the late Shakur became the first to hit number one with 1995's "Me Against the World," released while he was imprisoned on a sexual assault conviction. Some have recorded songs behind bars.

I hate to use the race card but I think this instance calls for it! If Lil Wayne was some rock star that just got out of jail we wouldn't seeing most of these hateful comments, would we? Let say he was a country western singer n he was caught with a gun, he would be glorified as an outlaw in a cool way. In this case he is a blackman, so he is just another thug. Lil wayne have employed n created more jobs for people in this economy than all u hateful mofos, making these ass nine comments. So shut ya pie holes and deal with the fact that this blackman is successful and will continue to be for a long time. I am sure some of u will help me with my spelling too; cuz I am just another ignorant thug that can't spell, so thank u in advance lol.

Going out and throwing a huge party, then going to the strip club is "Normal Life on the outside"? Wow, then all of us who go to work, then go back home to our kids every day, must be abnormal...

If 'Lil'Wayne actually tried to do something called rehabilitation while he was inside (and I realize that's a stretch of the imagination), he would tell the Owner to stuff the strippers and parties.

Watch tomorrow's news for "Lil' Wayne arrested for <insert crime here>" headlines.

Sigh. And the game continues. It would I guess, be funny if it wasn't so predictable, this creation of the demonized black male who gives white people the perfect target to vent on. Always a villain, always an enemy to hate, declare war on, unload their on imperfections on to keep from dealing with historical truths or the man in the mirror. The illusion of "us" and "them." The game has gone on for centuries now since the ships landed. This creation of the easy to hate villain, in this case the black male, yesterday the "native savage" and how many since then?--perpetual criminal worthy of prison, justification for the righteous indignation of those in complete social denial of their own history of bloodshed and violence. Yesterday sipping tea while black men hung. Before that Sunday meetings while red men were butchered. Saddest of all, that young blacks, desperate to escape a generationally templated life predicated on social exclusion, continually buy into this game of litigated self-destruction, and that gullible socially impaired whites buy into its deception. Because they need to believe that "we" are better than "them." All the while the "great and mighty OZ" continues to spin the music of lies behind the curtain while the players dance. Alas though, Toto will appear, and this little circus is about to come to a predictable end. Like all the delusional festivals before it. The costumes will come off and people will finally get that it was a staged drama all along.

Sounds like someone got some issues. It's too bad that all of your flowery prose won't change the reality that this person whom you seek to deify, and the other "gangsta" mentality cronies like him are simply thugs glorifying thug life. They seek to destroy those who happen to be flying the wrong colors or fly the wrong signs, when actually they end up maiming and killing bystanders instead of each other. What this music of lies that OZ continues to spin, I don't know, but I do know this, nobody forced any particular lifestyle on these poor, downtrodden and disenfranchised youth. They chose the life they wanted to emulate, I see examples everyday of inner city kids who choose different paths and actually have become quite successful in life, you know how? They took school seriously, some went on to college and succeeded as physicians, attorneys, judges, CEO's, engineers, politicians and astronauts. In closing I feel that I must point out your own apparent racism, "We can't go no place 'cause whitey be holdin' us down", is what I'm hearing through your posts. Oh, and by the way, Capone is spelled with a "C" not a "K".

This is what our society is coming to, unfortunately. Decent people need to refuse to have such trash put on the air waves, television, internet and any form of the media. The media is supporting such degradation of our youth. First thing you know Lil Wayne will be elected President of the USA. Strippers every where....

Sigh. But who Ladyjpl, started all of this? Do you know? Who began the strip clubs, the prostitution, the porn, the corrupt music and film industry in America? Do you know the real bosses behind the scene? Who dear, were the original gangsters whose templates this is built on? Hint, they didn't look like Lil Wayne. They had names like Kapone, Schultz, Seagul, Luciano, and the like. Cotton clubs had for entertainers the "cotton pickers" of yesterday, but who owned the joint? Who benefitted from profits made. Who runs the film industry? Who owns the record distribution companies? Do you know? Who are the bosses who really set the standard for what can or cannot be produced? Do you know? I disagree with all of it because I know what is behind it all, do you? Strippers, nude dancers, you think that's a black thing? Watched the soaps lately? Films? Movies? Have you really looked at this beyond the pale? Literally? I doubt it. The people who are behind this are the "decent" people who probably look a lot like you.

It makes me want to go out and buy all the albums lil wayne did. We should support him so he and his friends can afford as big a party as possible with high priced strippers. Maybe even afford another tat (if he has any room for one more).

Note to parents: Do you really allow your children to support this piece of crap and listen to his rantings? I will not call it music because it IS NOT MUSIC.
