NEW YORK (CBS/AP) You could call it the ultimate beach book.

Snooki of "Jersey Shore" fame is working on - get this - a book.

Gallery Books announced Wednesday that Nicole Polizzi, known as "Snooki" to fans of the MTV reality show now in its second season, has a novel called "Shore Thing" scheduled to come out in January.

The publisher said the novel will tell of love on the boardwalk, complete with "big hair, dark tans, and fights galore."

Snooki said in a statement that she has been working on the book for some time. "This book will have you falling in love at the shore," she said.

Adds Jennifer Bergstrom of Gallery Books: "Who better than Snooki to write a fun, sexy novel about a single girl looking for love on the Jersey Shore."

In case you were wondering, Snooks is not writing alone. Gallery, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, said she has a collaborator

She can write? A twisted story full of plotholes and spelling errors. "I shall leave now for no raisin, I am the greetest!"

I can not believe who are made celebrities today on reality T.V. and the sad thing is our children think these people are cool. Where is the world going? It is like being as obnoxious, or vulgar, or rude, or sexually expicit as you want to be in public, is the cool thing to be today. Our totally free society is swinging way too far to the left in the liberalization of American culture in today's world. It makes you want to take your small children and isolate them from all of this sick influence they are exposed to on T.V. and in school from kids whose parents promote this nonsense to their children. When will American society get back to the old refined ways of being polite, with manners, and moral and ethical values again? I pray it is soon.

They can start by turning the tv and video games off, and spending more quality time as a family. There is nothing educational about tv, and it instills laziness and contributes to the dumbing down of America. I turned my cable off four years ago and don't miss it at all.

...is it no wonder why our society is in decline and that the rest of the world thinks we're one big joke and totally lacking in anything meaningful or substantive?

It must have something to do with our falling education levels.
