Hope Fades for "Lone Star" as Ratings Drop
The cast of "Lone Star."
(Credit: Fox)The show about a con man living two lives in two different Texas cities drew just 3.7 million viewers, down from last week's disastrous 4.1 million debut.
Even worse, New York magazine's Vulture blog notes, it averaged a 1.0 in adults 18-49, down 23 percent from last week.
"Lone Star" received praise from critics for its original premise and strong cast, featuring newcomer James Wolk. But Monday's 9 p.m. timeslot is a packed one, with reality TV favorite "Dancing with the Stars" on ABC, NBC's new drama "The Event" and "Gossip Girl" on the CW all airing at the same time.
Series creator Kyle Killen made a plea for viewers on his blog before the show's second episode aired - even offering to mow people's lawns if they watched. But now it remains to be seen if the show will make it to episode three.
