Miller, 48, publicly came out of the closet on her nationally syndicated show, "The Stephanie Miller Show," on Friday.
An hour before she made the announcement, Miller wrote on her Twitter page, "There may be a lot of crying next hour," and "Stick around for the next hour. Mama's got something to tell you."
Cheyl Wright, who also recently came out in May, was a guest on Miller's show Friday. "You get a toaster oven for recruiting me," joked Miller.
A former stand-up comedienne, Miller has always been vocally pro-gay, both on her show and in public. She grew up with two Republican parents, including her late father, attorney and congressman William Miller, who was Barry Goldwater's running mate in the 1964 presidential election.

I'm sorry but I won't be listening to your show again and have told all of my friends on the net how atrocious the program is. I know you are not going to miss me, and I sure as heck am not going to miss you. May God have mercy on you.
Typical, delusional behavoir from the uber-leftist's of the Democrat Party. They're always so "supportive" of others to come out of the closet when it suits their political agenda, yet when it comes to their "personal lives" (don't we ALL have personal lives?), mum's the word.
Except when their "career's" are in the toilet, a la Ellen DeGeneres, Anne Heche, Melissa Ethridge and now Stephanie Miller; each having boyfriends and heterosexual relationships early in their lives and "career's". Of course to come out and level a much needed call of BS, you would be SCREAMED at while being accused of being "racist" and/or a "homophobe", which is why their secret (being hetero) is kept, for the most part.
But this isn't all that surprising when you consider that 'symbolism over substance' is the cornerstone of the uber-leftist, Hugo-Chavez-esque, Democrat Party.
Pathetic. Sad. But so very true.

While I am straight (and will support her and the mooks forever), I wish she would have been in the trenches as a gay woman long ago (and not just an ambiguous "gay sympathizer.") Members of her audience would have understood her orientation from the very beginning.
As for the question of advertiser support, I would have thought that the stigma of being gay ended in the '70's. I am proud of Steph for finally coming out. I just wish she would have fought for her beliefs when it was still "risky." It's my hope that, in the future, hiding will no longer be a solution to fear.
And Finland is going to marrage from reg. partnerships, while Denmark added adoption rights to their partnership laws. And Chile may get civil uNions or marriage, Costa Rica trashed a referendum attempt to ban gay marriage. While Equador may go CUs >>> to marriage, and Peru may get recognition.
And Mexico's supreme court required that aLl mexican states must recognize gay marriages from mexico city, opening the door to nationwide gay marriage.
And I agree with us_1776 that we need all gays out of the closet. The closet it just another fascist trick to hide gay people from society, just as Germany under the Catholic Hitler did in the 1930s. Because history's worrst mass murderer understood that its easy to sell hatred via fear of people you don't know, and hard to do that re people you know and respect.
RE the Pope, I used to think he was the horror show of horror shows - a man who was born and grew up in Nazi germany. Now I realize that he may well be Gods gift to the western world. For in seeing his and his church hierarchy's hatred of gay people , the good Catholics who believe in the churches (recently anything but) social justice message for all people, will reject the church.
And be true to Jesus second of only two commandments - to love thy neighbor as thyself.

A person's sexual orientation is part of their nature. No one makes a conscious choice about it. And we need to give all LGBT members the right to marry, the same right as any other person has under the Constitution.
