NEW YORK (CBS) Katy Perry is floating on a pink cloud, all in the name of "Teenage Dream."

The "California Gurls" pop star is prepping her upcoming third studio album "Teenage Dream," with the title single just released on radio Friday. The album cover shows a semi-naked Katy Perry nestled in a billowy cloud with just a little piece of cloud strategically placed over her bottom.

Perry has reasons to show off her goodies. In June, Maxim ranked the 25-year-old singer Number 1 in the magazine's annual "Ten Hottest Women Ever" list.

Surprisingly, the album cover is not a photograph, but a painting by Los Angeles-based contemporary artist Will Cotton (who also was creative director behind Perry's colorful "California Gurls" music video).

According to Billboard, Cotton photographed Perry posing in clouds of real cotton candy in his studio. The artist then used those images to create a 6-foot-by-6-foot composite painting that was unveiled live on Ustream for Perry's fans on July 21.

To fully showcase the artwork, Billboard reports that "Teenage Dream" will be released as a Digipak in its first run and printed on cotton candy-scented paper.

"Teenage Dream" album will be available Aug. 24.

Katy Perry has been accused before and Snoop dogg is being sued already.& Capitol records has done this & lost before. Look online. Interestingly, Beach boys Rondor Music is affilated (owned by) with Interscope, which is Snoop Dogg's parent label who was part of the copyright infringement against Simon Thunder. Capitol records is probably trying to suppress the attention that is Simon Thunder's claim is receiving. How very odd! That they have not comne out against him. Actions speak so loud. You all screwed up and will indeed be punished for it.! Accept it. You are wrong. Simon Thunder would not give you his songs so you stole ideas, words, and melodies. Companies don't sue themselves and make press about it, because it is an in house issue!

Capitol Records Twit Katy Perry to be sued by Grammy Voting BMI Published Artist Simon Dylan Ian Xander Thunder for what amounts to stolen melodies from songs, words, and musical riffs already copyrighted, RIAA & BMI protected, and 2008 Grammy accepted submissions!??
Katy Perry and her illegal Copyright Infringement of the Simon Thunder song "Cali(fornia) Girl"
Current mood: shocked Is (*Jericho Thunder is Simon Dylan Ian Xander Thunder - JT Thunder/Xander7*)
Category: Music (*Is Jericho Thunder Real?? Yes, he is Simon Dylan Ian Xander Thunder - JT Thunder/Xander7*)
Whoever stole/wrote, produced, arranged, recorded, mixed, played, and party to your song "California Gurls" has infringed on my melody, lyrics, and musical riffs from my "Cali(fornia) Girl" song which was written long ago and copyrighted for recorded release in 2007-2008. My song was listed in many categories on 2008 Grammy list! Seriously, don't you folks have anything else to do besides rip other artists off!!!
If you want to pursue this illegal action and be sued let me know?? If you are not smart enough or musically proficient enough to hear it in the mix. I will be happy to help educate and school you!!
Here is the link for copyright infringement! It is my main two melodical riffs from my song underlying and overlaid on the her song! That is all I found so far!!! No doubt her upcoming album will be scrutinized for more theft of my musical and lyrical property! Seriously, to sing the same words from my song on the same melody from my song! How utterly impudent! How lame!!! A hook melody is the main part of every song the soul and identity of it! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_infringement
The Snoop Dogg was also listed as one of the songwriters on the Katy Perry song. It looks like I have to sue him and Capitol/Interscope/Universal Records along with all the other songwriters, including Katy Perry.
Cordozar Calvin Broadus, better known by his stage name Snoop Dogg, is an American rapper, record producer and actor. Snoop is best known as an MC in the West Coast hip hop scene. Check the link below

Songwriters for Katy Perry theft of my Simon Thunder melody from my "Cali(fornia) Girl" song:

Broadus, Cordazar Calvin; Gottwald, Lucasz ; Levin, Benjamin; Max; Martin; Mckee, Bonnie; Perry, Katy affiliated with Capitol Records/Interscope!

Link to first accusation of katy Perry borrowing something leading towards dishonorable and unethical with the possibilty of theft and unoriginal desperation to be more than she is http://www.posh24.com/katy_perry/is_katy_perry_a_t
This time she went to far! People who flirt with unethical behavior eventually run out of luck or the mercy and grace afforded to them to learn before they get metaphorically smacked and taught a lesson buy the legal system because the messed with the wrong person! l get busted! I promise! Stay tuned!

Posted to twitter and my updates on May 24, 2010:
Your a hitmaker when Katy Perry and company try to steal your melodies in your Copyrighted BMI Published song. No doubt! She will get sued!
posted new blog entries: The NARAS sponsored "Performance Rights Act" and other pertinent issues. and Katy Perry and her illegal Copyright Infringement of Simon Thunder song "Cali(fornia) Girl"!
My brief note to Grammy corporate:
Perhaps, you folks might want to take some action of your own with Ms. Katy Perry and writing team/producers/the label etc. It is quite obvious if you are a musical person, but to do it such a blatant fashion is just really low! I mean to completely disregard my Grammy accomplishments as a Grammy Voting Member and Artist! Regarding what? Well, how about that she/they swiped a couple of my main melodies/concept from my "Cali(fornia) Girl" song and put them into her "California Gurlz" song. I mean really, is it necessary to educate every unethical ignoramus by engaging in a ugly lawsuit!Morons
