NEW YORK (CBS) Pamela Anderson was set to unveil a new PETA campaign in Montreal today but was denied a permit to hold the event because the ad was considered sexist.

Montreal's film commission denied Anderson and the animal rights organization a permit to stage the poster unveiling in Place Jacques-Cartier.

In an email to PETA, Montreal City Commissioner Josee Rocheford said the ad "goes against all principles pubic organizations are fighting for in the everlasting battle of equality between men and women."

"I think it's silly," the Canadian-born actress said at a press conference on Thursday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Montreal is known for its liberal attitude, so it doesn't make much sense," she added.

The ad shows a scantily-clad Anderson with her body parts sectioned off as if they were cuts of meat and labeled with words like "breast," "round" and "rump."

The caption reads: "All animals have the same parts. Have a heart - Go vegetarian."

PETA Senior Vice President Dan Mathews, who was in Montreal with Anderson for the unveiling, added, "I think that city officials are confusing 'sexy' with 'sexist.'"

Anderson said that the ban may actually benefit the campaign.

"It's unfortunate, but everyone's talking about it. So it worked to our advantage."

The unveiling will reportedly now take place inside the privately-owned Restaurant Globe in the city.

What is stupid about this is does Pam Anderson know they tested her breast implants in animals? Does she know they test collagen in animals? Does she know they tested botox in animals? Does she know they tested hair die on animals? Does she know all her makeup was tested on animals. Is she ok with implanting things under animals skin so her breasts can be bigger but SHE can be safe??? And thats ok with her?

Does she know she's an hypocritical idiot?

These celebrities kill me when they think supporting PETA simply means being a vegetarian, wearing cruelty free make-up, and not wearing fur. The implants and cosmetic fillers many of them inject into their faces and bodies are tested on animals. Same thing with prescription drugs, they also are animal tested during drug development. This includes drugs for life-threatening illnesses. So many of them find things like this out after the fact then slowly back away from PETA. PETA is against the use of animals for any and everything. They believe animal life and human life are completely equal.

That being said, I have no problem with this ad. It's thought-provoking and is not vulgar.

Sexist? What a bunch of bullcrap.

She's in a bathing suit so they can show the different labeled sections of her body. She can't help the way she looks. Geez.

Stick to the point of the thing. "ANIMALS HAVE THE SAME PARTS"

The problem is that Pamela Anderson does NOT look like this. This is a photo that has obviously been photoshopped to make her thinner and remove any flaws. The shadowing on her neck does not match the rest of her body. Her arms have been obviously trimmed thinner. Her body as a whole is so airbushed it looks surreal.
