NEW YORK (CBS) Lindsay Lohan is making it clear to the world that she thinks her 90-day jail sentence was an unjust ruling.

In a series of posts on her Twitter account, the troubled Hollywood starlet protested her innocence while also expressing her frustration towards the "constitutionally perverted" justice system.

"It is clearly stated in Article 5 of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights that ... 'No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment,'" she first wrote yesterday.

Moments later she tweeted a quote from a 2002 article by legal scholar Erik Luna: "'November 1 marked the 15th anniversary of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines. But there were no ... celebrations, parades, or other festivities in honor of this punishment scheme created by Congress and the US Sentencing Commission....'"

"'Instead, the day passed like most others during the last 15 years: Scores of federal defendants sentenced under a constitutionally perverted' ... system that saps moral judgment through its mechanical rules.'"

Lohan also claimed she was not sending a message to the judge when she had an expletive painted on her manicure. While replying to a friend, the "Mean Girls" star said, "it had nothing to do w/court.. it's an airbrush design from a stencil."

Lohan received a 90-day jail sentence Tuesday after a Beverly Hills judge ruled she violated probation over a three-year-old drug case.

Her sentence came as a surprise to Lohan and her family.  Her mother, Dina Lohan, claimed the sentence was too harsh, telling Popeater that "this is so not fair to do to my child," while her father, Michael Lohan, met with Larry King and said he was in "dismay" about the idea of his daughter going to jail.

No one should be above the law, especially this spoiled little brat. I think she otta get 6 months in LA county jail, with NO SPECIAL TREATMENT (like drugs), just like any other Jane Doe.

Lindsey is displaying classic alcoholic / addict behavior. The sad thing is she doesn't seem to realize it yet so more trouble may be ahead before she seeks the real help she needs.

A perverted person gets a sentence, light in nature for perverted acts and then claims the law is perverted. This is a measure of just how much distance exists between she and maturity. I would measure the distance at 2.3 parsecs. Do the deed, get an appropriate response and then whine!

I suppose GWB is to blame - correct? Or is the person of blame today one Jan Brewer?

"Lindsay Lohan is making it clear to the world that she thinks her 90-day jail sentence was an unjust ruling."

Seems to fit her unjustly spoiled brat behavior to me??

"In a series of posts on her Twitter account, the troubled Hollywood starlet protested her innocence while also expressing her frustration towards the "constitutionally perverted" justice system."
"It is clearly stated in Article 5 of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights that ... 'No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or..."

Maybe she could stop subjecting herself to torture and degrading the character of humanity??

I agaree that Miss Lohan should realize that her actions have consequences and that she should be prepared to step up and to pay the price of those consequences . . .

HOWEVER

I also agree that if the case were to have involved Jane Doe from off the streets, it would have ended a long time ago.

Sometimes folks who are well known get off light . . . and sometimes they bear a heavier burden (and consequence) because of their celebrity. . . and it has NOTHING to do with jutice.

Sound like the judge needs to get some physical exercise.

I'll jut BET Lindsay & Co, think her punishment is unjust. (I love the way she's quoting all the big phrases she copied from the law books. Her rendition up there was done in such a way to KNOW it wasnt HER take on whats going on..Thats merely the approach a SPOILED BRAT would take...) How many times are we told raising our children that there must be "consequences" for our children when they overstep , esp BADLY. Ma & Pa Lohan are griping because their "mealticket" will be incarcerated for a little while. If they gve a damn about her at all, they'd recognize the fact that this thing MIGHT be her salvation..I hope it will be abd that she bdoesnt serve just 2 weeks and get out "on good behavior" or nfrom some "DONATION" to nthe LA COurts System.. TEACH this brat, NOW, and MAYBE, just MAYBE a WORTHWHILE Young Lady could come out when its done..

Anyone 18 and older should be held responsible for all they do. NO ONE including celebrities should be above the law. Unfortunately a lot of preferential treatment exists for those with fame and fortune, and not only in the U.S. but all over the world. Money and fame does talk and in some places, who you know makes is the difference between serving your time, having reduced sentences or walking. Over crowded facilities is a poor excuse for letting her out early. Do you think the same would apply for any other than a well know person? If you do, then take off your blinders!
