Royal Wedding By The Numbers
(CBS) Today's royal wedding of Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria to her personal trainer, Daniel Westling, is no ordinary affair.
The event, which includes a ceremony at Stockholm Cathedral, a procession in an open carriage through city streets, a barge trip across the harbor and a banquet for more than 950 at the Royal Palace, is expected to cost $2.3 million. Half will be paid by the Swedish government and half by the bride's father, King Carl Gustaf.
There are a lot of other numbers that go into that sum and here are a few of them being mentioned in Swedish press reports:
5,000: The number of military troops taking parade in a parade through city streets.
40,000: The number of flowers ( roses, carnations, lilies and hydrangea) imported from Colombia.
200,000: The number of people expected to line the streets as the bride and groom's open carriage passes by.
18: The number of fighter jets taking part in the planned flyover.
85: The number of Volvos leased by the royal family to transport wedding guests around town.
500 million:The number of people expected to watch the wedding ceremony as it is aired live on Swedish TV.
17: The number of bands expected to play in the parade.
2,300: The number of journalists expected to cover the wedding and related events.
950: The approximate number of guests for the royal banquet at the Palace that will follow the cathedral wedding.
80: The number of police horses that will be used in the Swedish capital that day.
2,000: The number of police officers expected on wedding duty that day.
18: The number of crew members needed to row the royal barge across Stockholm harbor.
