An excerpt from a deposition of Pastor Terry Jones, August 10, 2010.

Pastor Terry Jones who caused international controversy with his Quran burning plan, believes that Islam is "of the devil" and apparently has similar problems with other religions.

Last month, in a deposition from a court case in which Jones was a witness, attorney Michael Spellman asked Jones what else he believed was "of the devil."

Q. And you believe that everything that is not from god is of the devil. Is that right?

A. Yeah, I guess so. Uh-huh. Then again, it depends on what you're talking about. I don't believe necessarily baseball is from the devil because it's not from god. But I mean, basically in general, I believe that if it's not from god, it's from the devil. Right.

Q. Is Hinduism of the devil?

A. Yes, of course.

Q. Buddhism?

A. .Yeah.

Q. How about Judaism?

A. Yes.

Hear me out Pastor, burning the holy book of muslims will not be the end of islam on earth. And mind you, the evil deed you're about to commit is not refering to muslims but Almighty God. So if you think you can practice a war with Amighty God, you are free to do that. Just go ahead, i'm absolutely sure it will be a lesson to others like you by His grace. BET ME IF YOU DOUBT!

Please write to the AUASS (The Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences) to build mosques on other Moons and planets--the Earth is overcrowded. There are over 170 Moons in our Solar System. www.auass.org

Mr Jones, I have a son going to Afganastain next week. If something happens to him due to your ignorance my son's blood will be on your hands Mr Jones. Take that to your church. Judge not least you be judge.

As much as I didn?t want to give Rev. Terry Jones and his church (the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida) the pleasure of getting one more website hit, I felt it was the lesser of evils to look it over to get some idea about what is fueling this group?s fanatical hatred for Islam.
I didn?t have to look very far! It became immediately apparent why these so-called believers in Jesus are so out of tune with the real Man From Galilee who is known for saying things like ?love your enemies? and ?do unto others as you would have them do to you??their website is littered with the belief that God is going to send a lot of people to a burning Hell!
However, what is even more bizarre, is to read Rev. Jones try to make such an issue of their supposed belief that Jesus is the son of God, and not just a prophet as Islam holds. If, in fact, he really thought Jesus was the actual incarnation of God, the first thing he would know is that God doesn?t hate anyone, has no intention of ever hurting anyone (much less blow torching them!) or returning anything except love for hate. Jesus not only taught these things, but he lived them out. If he really is The Word or The Expression of God, because he was God in the flesh, then The Message of Jesus is that we ought to treat everyone in the world, including Muslims, the same way we would like to be treated.
In other words, even if every one of Rev Jones? exaggerated claims about how ?evil? Islam is were true, were he a real believer in Jesus, he would never disrespect them in the manner he and his church still threaten to do.
All that said, I will give Jones credit for one thing?his Hellish logic, twisted as it is, is consistent! Think about it. If God were actually intending to torture every Muslim (along with everyone else who is not a Christian by Jones? definition) with fire, for eternity, then doing to the Koran what God is supposedly going to do to those who believe in it isn?t that much of a stretch! So I?m not all that baffled by Rev. Jones? plans for Sept. 11th, given what he thinks God is like.
What is very baffling, though, is how so many other Evangelicals who also believe God is going to subject billions of people to an eternal Abu Ghahib know, somewhere deep down, that Rev. Jones is wrong! As well as they should!
Perhaps, in spite of all the Pro Hell propaganda they are fed all the time, it?s still not so easy to fully accept the notion that Jesus will one day make every terrorist act committed in all of human history pale in comparison to what he will do. Why? Well, I?d like to believe that it?s because, once you?ve heard even a distorted part of the Good News, it has a powerful effect on the soul.
Let me illustrate from just one of the many accounts of Jesus? words and actions in the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 9, when his disciples actually wanted God to rain fire down from Heaven on a village of Samaritans (a people whose religious beliefs closely mirror today?s Islam) because they had rejected him. Jesus? response was visceral! He told them that their words were inspired by Satan, and he lamented their lack of understanding about his real mission. Imagine what Jesus would say to the believers of today who not only claim God is going to burn people for a few horrific minutes until they?re dead, but forever!
This is why I wrote my book, Hell? No! Why You Can Be Certain There Is No Such Place As Hell (available at www.thereisnohell.com). I realized that there are a lot of believers out there who need help to rid themselves of a belief that they, in their heart of hearts, know just can?t be true. But it?s really hard for them to escape the tentacles of fear that it might just be true. Fortunately, those who have done all they can to pervert the real message of Jesus have as yet to erase it completely. It?s my hope that, by pointing people to what he actually said and did, they will be liberated once and for all from Hell?s grasp and all the other crazy ideas that go with it, such as burning Korans.

Quran Burning Pastor: Judaism, Other Religions "Of The Devil"
---
People who argue that one dogma is superior to another is like two kids arguing as to whether Spider Man could take the Hulk.....

Absurd.

Please do not misunderstand me from the get go. I am all for freedom of religon.
but why is it wrong for this pastor to burn the Quran, but it is perfectly fine for muslims to burn the US flag, the christian bible, and any other religions accoutraments?
if muslims were stating they were going to burn bibles this saturday, how many of Pastor Jones' nay-sayers would be stopping it?
i do not agree with his doing it. Because it is just paving a way for agression towards the US. But we cannot deny his right to do it. Because Muslims are doing it EVERY DAY!
CBS and the other news stations show it in thier broad casts.
If we have freedom of religon, then it goes for the one that founded this country as well.

I agree he has a right to do it. I think he is wrong to do it. But he definately has a right to do it. Muslims can't burn bibles....if they touch one they would probably be killed.

"Q. How about Judaism?
A. Yes"

Oh Pastor I think you missed the part of the bible that the Jews are the Chosen People, we Gentiles (non Jews) are just blessed to be grafted in by the blood of Christ.

Sir, read your bible

And let's not forget, of course, that Jesus was Jewish. Does that make Him "of the Devil"? Is Pastor Jones planning to burn some Old Testaments?
by larrylinn1 September 9, 2010 12:15 PM EDT
Would Jesus burn the Koran? Terry Jones has not learned from Jesus. Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Bahai are sometimes referred to as the "Abrahamic religions" because of the progenitor role that Abraham plays in their holy books. In both the Jewish tradition and the Kora, he is referred to as "our Father".Jews, Christians, and Muslims consider him father of the people of Israel. For Jews and Christians this is through his son Isaac, by his wife Sarah; for Muslims, he is a prophet of Islam and the ancestor of Muhammad through his other son Ishmael, born to him by Sarah's handmaiden, Hagar.
