Boehner PAC's ads target Dems over Ryan budget

Updated: 10:29 a.m. ET

After a brief respite from political campaign ads after the 2012 elections, the Congressional Leadership Fund, a super PAC tied to House Speaker John Boehner, is out with its first ads of the 2014 campaign cycle, airing television ads in New York and Florida targeting Democratic House members for voting against the controversial Republican budget proposal.

The ads, aimed at suburban moms in Republican-leaning districts, go after Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-N.Y., and Rep. Joe Garcia, D-Fla., both of who voted against the GOP plan, along with all other House Democrats. Dan Conston, a spokesperson for the group, told CBSNews.com the ads will run on cable from Monday through Friday and that there will be a digital component as well. Conston put the buy -- which includes both the television and digital components -- "in the four figures."

"It's more about the ad, message, targets, timing, and that its going up on cable," he said in an email.

"House Democrats refused to support balancing Washington's budget even though families have to every month," said CLF Communications Director Dan Conston, in a statement. "American moms deserve to know why Democrats think Washington shouldn't live by the same rules."

The spots, which are identical, feature a mother lamenting the fact that she "can't figure out how to pay for" the new bike her daughter wants "so bad," which is tied to bad budgeting in Washington. According to the group, they will run on cable shows targeting women.

"Families make tough decisions to balance their budget," says the ad's announcement. "Why can't Washington?"

The group's early release of campaign ads represents an effort among Republicans to get out in front of the messaging surrounding the Ryan budget plan - which Democrats used against them in the 2012 election.

More republican bul--hit, they refused to pay for both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, plus many other things. So now they want to take in even less revenue and pay for even fewer things. All so the 1% ers can increase their wealth.

Demand congress introduce and vote on a 1% Wall Street Sales Tax before 2014 elections! Let congress demonstrate if they want austerity from middle class or 1% Wall Street Sales Tax revenue (half goes to the states) from Too Big To Fail banks.

The GOP claims "family values", it is hard to feed your family when Republican CEOs and boards have shipped your job out of the country.

Republican PAC. If we took all this money that the Republicans and their backers spend on campaigns, lobbying, paid speeches, and used that to pay down the nations debt, there wouldn't be any national debt. And, then everyone would be more willing to focus on current spending initiatives.

No amount of spin will change the fact that the Got Ours Party is bought and paid for by the ultra-wealthy robber barons of the 21st century. They have no shame, and aren't even trying to hide it any more. Their new platform is pretty much, "The rich get richer, the poor get eliminated from the conversation."
If you vote Republican nowadays, you are either xenophobic, homophobic, super rich, or super idiotic. There is no other GOP demographic, so save your whiny protests Repub supporters, and just pick which one you are and accept it.

Mr Speaker your budget gets balanced by giving tax breaks to the rich and cutting programs for the poor. That mother you show in your commercial does not find money to buy that bike buy not feeding her other children now does she? Your so called balanced budget takes away from the needy to ensure those that already have money get more. If families did thier budgets that way I guess the favored child would get all they wanted and the other children would just have to fend for themselves.

"Families make tough decisions to balance their budget," "Why can't Washington?" Good Question Mr. Speaker. You personally have never taken responsibility for the fiscal mess during the Bush years and now you are going to fix it? Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution states that only Congress can borrow, spend, and print money. So all you have to do is STOP spending, borrowing, and printing money. Problem Solved. See how easy that was.
