State police said in a news release Sunday night that a second SUV swerved to avoid the large rental truck and then hit a utility pole. The release says the trooper driving that SUV had minor injuries, but no one else was hurt in the wreck that happened around 5 p.m. in Baton Rouge.

Police say the rental truck made an illegal U-turn from the outside lane and sideswiped the first SUV carrying the governor and another trooper. They were not hurt.

Jindal spokesman Sean Lansing says the governor had been on his way home from his son's soccer game.

The crash is under investigation. The driver of the truck was cited for making an improper turn.

As opposed to spending millions of dollars to play a game of golf?

Jindal works a heck of lot harder than Obama. Jindal has cut state spending by a pretty significant chunk. The main increase in the debt is due to cuts of $859 million in federal dollars to fund Medicaid in his state.

Obama blows so much money on political theater it is not even funny. It was irresponsible and unpatriotic to have a debt of 9 Trillion, now after 4 years of Obama we're at what 16 trillion in debt. Obama attitude toward our country burning in debt is to let it go, the next president should have to do the hard work of cleaning up his mess.

The tag line says he is OK after the accident. Didn't know a crash would cure insanity.

Accidents happen even to ruthless governors who harm the state of Louisiana. It was not a pleasant experiece for the sorry hateful republican governor.
