Is Anthony Weiner preparing for a comeback?
Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y., spent over $100,000 on polling and research this month, reports the Wall Street Journal, generating speculation that the former congressman, who resigned in 2011 after revelations that he had sent lewd photos to women over the internet, could be preparing to mount a political comeback.

Prior to his fall from grace, Weiner had been preparing for a New York City mayoral campaign. The $100,000 came out of his city campaign account, which still has $4.3 million remaining, and was reflected on a report filed on Friday with New York City election officials.
Weiner declined to comment on the spending, telling the Wall Street Journal that he had "nothing to report beyond what I reported."
In January, the New York Daily News reported that Weiner's name was among five prospective mayoral candidates voters were asked about in an survey. It is not clear whether the survey and the more recent polling expenditures are connected in any way.

Several of Weiner's potential rivals in the mayoral race greeted the speculation about a comeback with nonchalance, according to WCBS in New York.
"I think Anthony should be there. I think he should run. Just stop texting," said City Comptroller John Liu.
"I think we've got one of the most crowded mayoral races we've ever had," added Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, "but everyone makes their own choice.
City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, considered an early frontrunner for the Democratic nod, said, "I think Anthony's future is up to Anthony, but I wish him nothing but the best, he and his family."

- The only reason anyone in the Dem party hated Anthony, was because he was a progressive lion and wouldn't compromise on things that all Dem's shouldn't budge on, and he was always very adamant and on most issues was one of the few politicians who didnt sell his soul. Especially being from NYC he refused to budge on his attacks of the wall st and financial crooks an so like other really strong liberals like Bernie Sanders, he was a black sheep. And he also routinely would destroy the Politico beltway insiders who constantly touted the BS claim that partisanship is the problem in Washington and that the right wing has just as many great ideas to help the country, best example was when he massacred Joe Scarburough and Mika on Morning Joe yrs ago during the Healthcare debate. And as for his "scandal", all he did was show his *****, Vitter admitted to cheating on his wife with a prostitute, which is illegal, yet he wasn't pushed outa politics infact he's a power still in the GOP and then Sanford of th famous Appalachian Trail scandal, he's now the GOP nominee for the House in S Carolina. Weiner was betrayed cuz he wasn't a soft spoken wimp like Harry Reid who helped force him out, only the Dem's help the other side by eating their own when having a scandal. The GOP stands up for their people who mess up, this is why we need Anthony back, and soon!

- If this mental midget is able to somehow worm his way back into NY politics then New York deserves to have it's collective head examined. What he did was stupid , not criminal but when he did not have the backbone to standup and say 'yeah i did it and the only person I want to hear anything from is my wife' he became just another inept liar and cheat. Then again he will fit right in with the rest of those lacking moral standards which is now the de facto qualification of Democrat Party in NY. No one has any integrity anymore and character is no longer a requisite to be in public office.
