Karl Rove's PAC readies attack against Ashley Judd

Actress Ashley Judd hasn't yet declared whether or not she'll run against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., next year, but a conservative super PAC is already preparing its line of attack against her.

The Karl Rove-backed American Crossroads is spending $10,000 on an online advertising campaign featuring a video called "Ashley's story." The video pokes fun at the actress for being a self-identified liberal "radical" who has said she is "committed to President Obama." It also jabs at her for calling Tennessee "home," even though her potential Senate bid would be in Kentucky.

"Ashley Judd: An Obama-following radical Hollywood liberal, who's right at home in Tennessee. I mean Kentucky," the ad concludes.

Judd, a Democrat has said she's " taking a close look" at running against McConnell. After five terms, McConnell is the longest-serving senator in Kentucky's history. Now a year ahead of his next election, he's facing pressure from the right on fiscal issues, as well as pressure from the left on gun control.

Zebdue, please re-read what I said and then read it again because everything you said I was saying is everything I wasn't saying AT ALLLLL. But, nevertheless, here is my explanation even though I don't owe you one.

1) Yes, as a matter of fact I AM a Christian and I'm not going to be shamed and belittled, by whoever you are, for it. I was taught to LOVE, RESPECT and be UNjudgemental of everyone. If that makes me a bad person, then this really is a screwed up world. But, you know what? A person doesn't even have to be a Christian to love, respect and not pass judgement. Imagine that.

2) I am the "poster person" for leaving our Constitution alone. I'm am tired of everyone customizing what is written to adapt it to fit their choices on any given day. I feel the same exact way about the Bible.

3) With that in mind, I didn't say that one person was going to save our country. I said "We the People", which means not the republicans, not the democrats, not the liberals, and no, not even hollywierd...

4) My reference to California had nothing to do with sexual preferences AT ALLLL! Stop jumping to conclusions and watch the news sometimes! I was talking about the money problems that the government of California has had in the past and how they have been on the brink of going broke. What the heck were you talking about?!

5) Yes, I read the Bible, period! I have that right and I don't need your permission. I don't, however, get out and try to force my beliefs and opinions on anyone just like you're trying to do with me.

6) I made NO prejudice references whatsoever. Where the heck did you get that from? I despise prejudices because they don't make any sense whatsoever to me.

7) My "idea of love" for my country is everyone coming together, banding together to work for the common goal of; 1) helping to make this a country of tolerance, security and prosperity, 2) to ensure that my grandkids will make it out of preschool alive and go on to graduate from High School and not be bullyied because of their differences.

8) It is very ironic, your comment about Puritans and Pilgrims. As a matter of fact, I just finished researching my heritage, because even though I was born and raised in America, I was still curious about my ancestors. My research revealed that my great grandparents were the very Cherokee that were driven out of their country, a part of the "Trail of Tears" struggle to be exact. So don't talk to me about injustices! I also have ancestors of Irish, Swiss and English descent. So, even in spite of the uncomprehendable choices that were made, you and I probably would not be experiencing all the blessings this country has to offer if those Puritans and Pilgrams had never landed on these shores.

I'm honored to have Cherokee blood in me as well as the Irish, Swiss and English, because after all it isn't about the pigmentation of our skin anyway, is it now?!

9) This is not a spelling bee!

I wouldn't vote for either one because I don't think either one has what it takes to save my beloved country. It needs to stop being democrat, republican, liberal, hollywierd. . .anything. "We the People" need to save our country from extinction. California is the very example of what we don't need for our country; that state constantly teeters on the brink of bankruptsy, so why would we even consider risking our already-ailing country to more of that. Frankly, I don't care if it is run by a purple-skinned, green blooded alien. If that alien can save my country, a place that I love with all my heart, and get it on the path it needs to be on, then I say, "Get it done".

If there was a profile of you, it would be this:

You're a very conservative, right wing Christian (based on your user name and your comments) who most likely a) hates gay people and liberals, and b) thinks CA is the perfect example of a place where "they" all live, and c) anyone who doesn't think like you is "wrong. Most likely, you're a Tea Party sympathizer, or a Constitutional Revisionist. Much like the legalist fundamentalists on the right, who interpret the Bible in whatever manner seems to align with their prejudices, the "Revisionists" do the same with the Constitution.

So listen (though I know you won't):
1. No single person is going to "save" your country, if that's what you naively think needs to happen. (What does that even mean, "Save the Country"? To you, I am sure, it means a return to the days of Pilgrims and Puritans, who took it upon themselves to wipe out an entire race of people because the people weren't exactly like them, and they wanted some land.)
2. Learn how to spell "bankruptcy" before you expect anyone to believe you.
3. Whatever "path" you're on is not the path the country needs to be traveling. If you're truly "not living for this world," then you wouldn't care what other people say or do: You would trust that God has a plan and your only task is to "love thy neighbor as thyself" and "Love the Lord with all your heart." Clearly, you think your love for YOUR IDEA OF THIS COUNTRY is more important than loving and accepting the diversity of people - from all different cultural backgrounds, nationalities, and sexual persuasions - that comprise the very country you purport to love so much.

Quite frankly, most people would rather listen to Ashley Judd suck her teeth, than listen to "Tutor the Turtle" deliver Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.

Karl Rove is backing another loser. He would be better off to find someone promising to run against Mitt in the primary.

Republicans just love name calling, especially long string name calling. Why? Because they have nothing substantive to talk about.
Did any of you see anything substantive in that ad?

Typical politics from Carl Rove and, unfortunately, the new GOP! First of all I am not sure Ashley Judd is qualified to be a U. S. Senator. Has anyone vetted her? By vetting I do not mean someone from the GOP; after all, they did such a great job with Sarah whatshername! That aside, photogenically she looks much better than Mitch, and she even knows how to smile. I'm sure she's a better actor too; Mitch was the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz, wasn't he?

I'm an independent voter, so I get to chose and not just vote for a candidate in the Grand Ole' Poo-Pa party. Seems to me the GOP needs to spend more time finding candidates worth voting for, than bashing the other party's candidate....even before they throw their hat in the ring!
