WASHINGTON Vice President Biden says he and President Obama are anxious to move forward on a bipartisan solution to the looming "fiscal cliff" that could force tax increases and across-the-board spending cuts next year.

Biden told reporters Wednesday the real question is what Republicans in Congress will do now that Democrats will keep control of the White House and the Senate. Republicans will stay in charge of the House.

Biden said he believes at least six Republican senators are prepared to compromise. He said Democrats will have to compromise, too.

Said Biden, "It's not like we're going to go in and say, 'This is our deal. Take it or leave it."'

Biden spoke to reporters aboard Air Force Two as he flew from Chicago to his home in Delaware.

Unfortunately the Cons Party has gone too extreme with the Tea Bagging Bozos. So they will not compromise for their billionaire owners.

They should come out with some actual ideas so that everyone can hear them. Unfortunately they are afraid their ideas would be extremely unpopular which is why they won't say any of them.

Really, You mean the wars like Afghanistan that was passed by Congress (both the House and Senate) with only 1 no vote?

Or Iraq that passed Congress that included Yes votes from the great Dem Senators like Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Tom Daschle, Chris Dodd, John Edwards, Diane Feinstein, John Kerry, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, want me to continue???

And you want to totally blame the Republicans, you freaking hypocrite.

Bush ignored Al Qaeda leading to 9/11 leading to Afghanistan. Most of the votes to invade Iraq were Republican. Bush and Cheney told the WMD lies and got the CIA to cook up phony intelligence.

Most of the debt since Reagan was from Republican presidents. The Republican Congress 2003 voted to go to war in Iraq and give more tax cuts to the rich in times of war. YES, Republicans cause debt and war.

Biden, you are the vice president. Your only duty is your assigned duty to break a tied vote in the senate. You do not make policy even though you think you should. It would be a tragedy of great magnitude if you were to become president.

Joe.. "take it or leave it" is exactly what all of the Dems are delicately pushing in interviews. When they say compromise, they mean GOP must cave.

Joe, you should know better considering your detailed knowledge of government and world conditions. Oh, and is Benghazi still your favorite ie cream?

Americans always offer their opinions based on extremely limited knowledge of facts. If we all knew as much as we think we did, America wouldn't be divided on who would make the best president for the second term, we would know, without a doubt. But we can only speculate, and for the "sour grapes" group, I would like to offer that we really have no idea what kind of president Romney would have made. He could have been terrific, or he could have bombed horribly, leading us into terrible situations. We will never know. And it could be that Americans were more sure of someone they've already seen perform as president, than gamble on someone else. Regardless, it is time for Americans to get over themselves, and refuse to continue being divided. We can do better, regardless of who is in the White House. We can start with ourselves, our families and our own cities to make a difference. Bless the U.S.A.

Agreed, but RNOHB has a point.

But Corporations are not people. They are comprised of people who do things and look out for their bottom line, at the expense of everyone else. Even if it means taking government handouts (corporate welfare, bailouts), despite their causing the problems that led to needing such bailouts. And it shows who the 47% really are.

Newsflash toad, corporations have been people since the romans. Can't say I disagree on taking away some of the subsidies.

Are you aware that when the subsidy is taken away, and the tax bill goes up, whatever the widget is that they make, the tax will be added to its price and YOU will pay it when you buy their widget. Just FYI.

How about they charge you the going market rate and they pocket the subsidy.

sjc, the last I looked, Clinton ignored Osama too.

And most of the votes were Republican??? Almost 60% of the Dems in the Senate voted for it.

Also debt from Presidents??? A President can't spend a dime without the approval of Congress. Remember even due to popular belief, Clinton did not really have a surplus.

And Bush and Cheney got the CIA to "cook the books"??? Come on, really?

Actually that is exactly what he is going to do. Nothing has changed on either side of the aisle. They will continue to obstruct each other.
