Bush gets higher likability ratings than Romney, Biden

Polls have repeatedly shown that voters find President Obama more likable than Mitt Romney, but a new poll released this week showed that they also have a higher opinion of former President George W. Bush.

A new Bloomberg News national poll showed that 43 percent of likely voters have a favorable opinion of Romney while 50 percent have an unfavorable view. By comparison, 46 percent have a positive view of Mr. Bush while 49 percent have a negative view.

Mr. Bush's favorability rating is also higher than Vice President Joe Biden's, who received a 42 percent positive rating. Fewer voters, though (45 percent), have a negative view of Biden than they do of Bush.

As Mr. Bush's former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer pointed out on Twitter, the favorability ratings Mr. Bush receives in the Bloomberg poll are the best he's received in years. When he left office, a CBS News poll showed he had a favorability rating of just 22 percent. A poll released over the summer showed that 63 percent of Americans still thought Mr. Bush deserved a great deal or a moderate amount of blame for the struggling economy, even though he had been out of office for more than three years.

Romney has kept his distance from Mr. Bush, who only appeared at the Republican National Convention in a video. The Republican candidate, however, is now attempting to deal with his own low popularity.

Further proof of the dumbing of America.

I hope it is the puppy effect, everyone loves puppies even when they do something wrong because how can you be made at something that doesn't know any better. Except, he was president and that is no excuse for the situation he put this country in.

So I am back to further evidence of the dumbing of America.

A 2010 Siena College poll of 238 Presidential scholars found that former president George W. Bush was ranked 39th out of 43, with poor ratings in handling of the economy, communication, ability to compromise, foreign policy accomplishments and intelligence. - Wikipedia

In spite of the fact Obama brain washed the public into believing the LIE, that the economy meltdown was Bush's fault, the knowledgeable people in the room, KNOW that's a lie, and we appreciate all that Bush did, and did quite well, while in office.

Obama is SOOOOO weak a President, he is still, after 4 yrs. using the "Bush excuse" for his own miserable failings! He always blames someone else, for his failings. If not Bush, then Congress (which is also a lie), or anyone else he find that is a Republican to charge, with his failure.

A total of 4.4 million jobs had been lost before Obama took office, including 820,000 the month (January,2009) he was sworn in, but why let the truth interfere with your Obama hate? LOL

You talk about Brain washing sounds like you are still brain washed from the last administration. I guess Obama learned from the best.

Bush gets a favorability rating. That shows you the power of staying out of the public's eye, as most American's have the attention span of a gnat. Has America forgotten that it was Bush that precipitated the economic melt down with his and Paulson's famous three page demand for untraceable money ($700 Billion) and demands for no accountability and further demands for deregulation of banking institutions. Have they forgotten that it was Saudi Arabian civilians that took down the WTC with those airplanes, while the Bush family had significant oil dealings the Saudi Royal Family, who were in the United States when the WTC went down on 9/11 and were the ONLY plane allowed to leave American airspace to fly home? Have they forgotten how Bush lied about the yellow cake, Weapons of Mass Destruction and got us into TWO wars, one of which our military forces trained Osama bin Laden on how to improve his technical operation of bombs, planes and ground forces military arsenals? Have they forgotten his VP lied about it and outed a CIA operative which is TREASON, yet VP Cheney was never brought to task for that? Have they forgotten that Bush was told that binLaden would attack in early September 5 days before he did? Have they forgotten what a wonderful parenting job he and his wife did while his teenage daughters were out clubbing, stone drunk, doing lewd dances in clubs and making tabloid headlines? Did they forget how he set up the economic meltdown by appearing on National TV telling Americans that taking out loans was never easier and you didn't have to live in small houses in bad neighborhood but could borrow your way UP? And then he allowed predatory banks and lenders to sign people up without checking their paper work, rubber stamping it, selling it to Wall Street broker who sold it to our 401(K) plans and to the governments of the world to pay our trillions of dollar debt racked up in his eight years of having the lowest approval rating of any president in history? Yes George, stay out of sight and short sighted Americans will soon make you the darling of American politics. Americans deserve the presidents they get, they don't get the presidents they deserve. Why? BECAUSE A DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC like the U.S.A. is NOT A SPECTATOR-ARM CHAIR QUARTERBACK sport. YOU MUST PARTICIPATE in YOUR GOVERNMENT, not just vote for the best looking or most macho guy on TV.

Wow! I didn't know. Perhaps you could enlighten us what the plan actually is cause this whole "trust me, I got a plan but you have to wait until after November to hear it" kinda makes me uneasy.

Obama has destroyed the country with Big Government expansion, deficit spending, and obstruction of the conservative reforms.

The Government sector is the new Elite sector. They now make all the money and get all the benefits. Politicians will not vote for a pay cut. The government sector can afford to have children.

So those of you in the private sector your the new poor and the slave to the government sector wishes.

You are spot on. Working for the man used to be a medium salary job with great benifits and an early retirment. Now they make the top dollar and still get more benifits than most others. How many people get a pension these days in a private sector job?

This doesn't mean Bush is actually likable - what it means is that the headline should have read: "Romney Even Less Popular Than George W. Bush".

Willard has too heavy an anchor around his neck. That "47% are worthless parasites" video killed his chance to win this election. You just can't make broad and strongly negative generalizations about half the population and expect to dodge the blowback.

Hate is ugly and Willard doesn't even apologize for being hideous.

It's crazy that we still have people that want to blame it on the last administration. It was 4 years ago, take it on the chin like a man. That is what the rest of us Citizens have to do.

RPSUPPORTER2 how about an analogy?

When a hurricane flattens your house and the insurance guys comes around to inspect the damage do you not tell the guys what happened? Do you not try to build a stronger house? And does it not take a long time to get the money either grants or loans before hiring an architect. Does it not take another length of time to break ground? What about the building itself? How long does that take? Finally, does it not take time to decorate and furnish the house? And during the entire time do you chose to ignore the existence of that hurricane? Do you choose to ignore the hurricane that damaged the house or you pretend that it never happened and you just really wanted a bigger house?

There are people in Louisiana who are still waiting to break down on their new house. And yeah, it was the hurricane Katrina that flatten it.

It will take more than fours years to fix what Bush did in 8. That is a fact.

This whole election is a popularity contest. Personally, I could give a hoot about who's more likable.

With a 1.3% growth rate, 8.1 unemployment, 16 trillion dollar deficit, more people in poverty than ever, etc., there's now what is heaven I'll vote for the current president.
