Poll: More view Obama positively after convention

Obama and Romney Poll CBS

(CBS News) Following the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., last week, registered voters now view President Obama more favorably than unfavorably, according to a new CBS News/ New York Times poll - a reversal from what was found in August when slightly more viewed him unfavorably.

However, two weeks after the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., more voters still view Mitt Romney unfavorably than favorably.

According to the poll, conducted Sept. 8-12, 45 percent of registered voters now view Mr. Obama favorably while 41 percent have an unfavorable view of him. Thirty-three percent of voters hold a positive view of Romney while 40 percent have an unfavorable view. Another 26 percent of voters say they are undecided about the GOP candidate or don't know enough about him to have an opinion.

The president also leads Romney on a number of candidate qualities.

Chart - Candidate Qualities CBS

Majorities of voters think Mr. Obama understands the needs and problems of people like them, is clear about what he wants to accomplish if re-elected, says what he believes rather than what people want to hear, and is honest and trustworthy.

Voters tend to think Mitt Romney is honest and trustworthy (though by a smaller margin), and that he is clear about what he wants to accomplish as president. But voters are divided over whether or not he understands their problems, and about half think he mostly says what people want to hear.

Likely voters who watched the conventions came away with more positive rather than negative impressions of both candidates. As might be expected, there are strong partisan differences on this.

Ignore the polls; they are meaningless. Gallup poll in 1980 showed Jimmuh Carter beating Ronald Reagan by 4% in Sep 80 and 8% in Oct 80; then Mondale beating Reagan in Oct 84 by 8%.

The real important fact is Obama is a socialist and wants to take your money and property and "redistribute" it to "less fortunate persons". Remember this, we already pay enough taxes; and we don't want the Government telling us how to spend our hard earned money!!

Fact 1: Listen to Obama stating "I actually believe in redistribution":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ge3aGJfDSg4 As you listen to this two minute piece, note how Obama carefully camouflages his words...he will not actually say he wants to steal your money...he used the fancy word "redistribute" instead to make it sound not so bad.

Fact 2: Here is Obama's "spread the wealth around" comment to Joe the Plumber:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=OoqI5PSRcXM

Fact 3: Here is Obama telling small business persons that "If you have a business, you didn't build that, somebody else made that happen."

Here's what we need to do:
A. Nov 6th: you and your friends kick out job killer not my fault not quite shovel ready muslim sympathizer FORWARD FAILURE nobama and all tax and spend politicians. GET INVOLVED; TAKE AN ACTIVE PART IN KICKING OUT OBAMA.
B. Repeal nobamacare and replace it with a better system not run by the Government.
C. Pass mandatory national E-Verify to stop illegals from stealing our jobs.
D. Pass mandatory national Voter ID to stop illegals from stealing our vote.
E. Don't listen to or believe the biased mainstream media [CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, AP, Reuters, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, LA Times, NY Times, Miami Herald...they are not journalists...they are liars for FORWARD FAILURE liberals.
F. Watch the movie "2016" to see the real obama.
G. Read the book "The Amateur: Barack Obama in the White House" by Edward Klein.

The instant gratification crowd might like an immediate recovery, but they don't seem to remember how deep of a hole we were in 4 short years ago. I'll take a measurable and sustainable recovery any day over unsustainable bubbles. I'll be voting to give President Obama another term rather than allowing Romney and Ryan to take our country back to the policies that drove us into a hole to begin with.

But you probably think the republican obstructionism of the past 4 years was a good thing. Can you name something the republicans DID do over these past 4 years that actually benefitted you?

NY times......partisan hack. I won't waste my time.

-----------

Yes, Barry - ALL media is against you except for the "Fairly unBalanced" Fox News and Rush Limbaugh.

Perhaps you should read WHO owns the media... Hint: they aren't looking for fiscal liberals to tax them more:

Read that.
For example, GE, which paid no taxes last year, owns NBC. Those companies aren't going to shoot themselves in the foot.

I challenge you to find one instance where they have shown a bias unlike the rest of them.

------------

I watch Fox, and not just the opinion shows.

You've been brainwashed if you think their actual news isn't biased. Seriously.

And, to be specific, I have seen several times in which they cover a topic yet only interview one side.

I merely stated that his focus would be on our dying economy. His business success, love or hate it, still gives him a marked avantage over the President as far economics. President Obama's primary focus has been more related to social issues. I'm not saying social issues aren't important. I just don't think they shouldn't take presidence over a crashing economy. Think about it like this, your on a ship and it's sinking and everyone thrown a [free life jacket]. Now there is no ship to stand on and you will freeze to death in ocean. What good was the [free life jacket]? Save the ship first. THE USS ECONOMY
