Arpaio: Obama birth record definitely forged

(CBS/AP) PHOENIX - Investigators for an Arizona sheriff's volunteer posse have declared that President Barack Obama's birth certificate is definitely fraudulent.

Members of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's posse said in March that there was probable cause that Obama's long-form birth certificate released by the White House in April 2011 was a computer-generated forgery.

Now, Arpaio says investigators are positive it's fraudulent.

Mike Zullo, the posse's chief investigator, said numeric codes on certain parts of the birth certificate indicate that those parts weren't filled out, yet those sections asking for the race of Obama's father and his field of work or study were completed.

Zullo said investigators previously didn't know the meaning of the codes until they were explained by a 95-year-old former state worker who signed the president's birth certificate. Zullo said a news reporter who has helped out in the probe let investigators listen in on an interview he conducted with the former state worker.

"Considering the fact that Hawaii appears to be very lax in its distribution of birth certificates, it is possible, though certainly not proven, that President Obama, through the actions of others, may have benefited by the ease with which one can obtain a birth certificate proving U.S. citizenship," Zullo said, according to CBS affiliate KPHO in Phoenix.

The Obama campaign declined to comment on Arpaio's allegations.

When asked by a KPHO reporter how anyone could believe the sheriff's findings, Arpaio shot back.

"That's an insult," Arpaio said. "Look at the evidence and forget who's in bed with who. Talk about the evidence."

Arpaio said his investigation has also found evidence that Obama's Selective Service registration form was fraudulent, KPHO reports.

The Arizona Democratic Party says in a statement that Arpaio's investigation is intended to draw attention away from problems within his own agency, such as hundreds of sex-crimes cases that the sheriff's office failed to adequately investigate over a three-year period.

So-called "birthers" maintain Obama is ineligible to be president because, they contend, he was born in Kenya.

Hawaii officials have repeatedly confirmed Obama's citizenship.

Obama released a copy of his long-form birth certificate in an attempt to quell citizenship questions.

Courts have rebuffed lawsuits over the issue.

I like how you try to change the subject from fraud to the investigators failed cases. I have seen the birth certificate and it is fake. What about his SSN? The number on his Social Security card belongs to a man named Harrison Bounel, who is deceased. You didn't touch on that? Bad job reporting and a very disrespectful reporter. Does this about sum the normal day for you liberals? Get up and read their local newspaper. It has a liberal viewpoint. They take their kids to school, where the teachers are liberal. Then they go to work, listen to NPR which has a liberal viewpoint on the way home, and then turn on the nightly news which also skews leftward. From there, they turn on TV and watch shows created by liberals that lean to the left, if they have any political viewpoint at all. Unless liberals actively seek out conservative viewpoints, which is unlikely, the only conservative arguments they're probably going to hear are going to be through the heavily distorted, poorly translated, deeply skeptical lens of other liberals.

I know.... He should just refuse (retroactively) to release any documents at all and say "you know enough about me and my family" At that point he would be WAY ahead of Romney, since we don't have hi papers and we have seen Obama under several stressful situations. After a few weeks of campaigning Romney left the country (BTW check his pockets for cash, headed for an offshore account) with very little on his agenda....

If Obama did that I am absolutely SURE the people here against Obama would change their minds.....

I have heard the saying "There is no fool like an old fool". Arpaio certainly gives credence to that saying. This is just the latest instance of his desire for the spotlight leading him to do/say foolish things.

Lindag20, with the right amount of money any book can be rebound. Books are rebound all the time. Not to difficult for that 1962 book to be rebound and replace a page while doing so. If they took a page from a deceased child whose parents are also dead they could easily replace that document with the forged document and rebind the book. It only takes money and the knowledge of rebinding books.

Do you actually think this sort of activity could take place in a large office such as the Vital Records department and NO ONE employed there would notice and if they did wouldn't "move their lips". I've worked in large offices employing a group of 50 or more, there's NO WAY this sort of activity would take place without SOMEONE gossiping about it. Nice try though. The forgery in this story is not Obama's birth certificate; it is the fake race code table Zullo showed in his video, calling it a "1961 vital statistics instruction manual." Regardless of whether Obama is or is not a citizen or is or is not a natural born citizen or was or was not born in the United States, he has presented forged documents to the American people. Everyone knows that. This is no longer a "birther" issue. It is a criminal issue.

Or are you a disciple of the late Senator Joseph McCarthy who didn't need any evidence to accuse scores of loyal Americans of having Communist ties?
