N.H. Union Leader endorses Gingrich

WASHINGTON - New Hampshire's largest newspaper is endorsing Newt Gingrich, giving the former House speaker a jolt in a state that has the first presidential primary.

The New Hampshire Union Leader wrote in Sunday's editions that the former Georgia lawmaker is the choice of the conservative editorial page.

The decision was published in a banner headline across the front page of the Sunday edition.

The nod had the potential to reset the contest in the state.

The Union Leader has long had great sway in Republican politics in the state, and the newspaper used Page One editorials and columns to help Sen. John McCain win the state's primary four years ago and start his path to the GOP's nomination.

Now that the Union Leadger has backed Newt, it is OK for you guys to take the W 2004 and McCain Palin stickers off of your old pick up trucks.

Many of the incumbent members of the GOP in congress tossed Newt out and fined him $300,000 for ethics violations. Only Dole (endorsed by the Union Ledger) came to his defense with a no interest loan to pay his fine. I can't see many in the GOP being happy about the current state of their party. Wonder if Newt ever paid Dole back?

Democrats filed 84 politically motivated ethics charges against Gingrich. All of them were found to be without merit. The last three were dismissed on Oct. 10, 1998. The fact is, not a single ethics charge filed against Speaker Gingrich was ever found to be based in fact -- not one. Gingrich was cleared of any and all wrongdoing. The fallout in the case resulted in an IRS investigation and a federal court case. Ultimately, Speaker Gingrich was cleared of any wrongdoing by the bipartisan House Ethics Committee, the IRS and a federal judge."

And he didn't borrow the money from Dole. The $300,000 wasn't a fine, it was to pay for the investigation.

Romney recognizes that the real enemy is already in Washington. If its Romney he has my vote, If its Gingrich, he has my vote, if its Cain, he has my vote. Any of them will be better than what we have in office now.

They should call it the "Union Loser" since they have a history of endorsing losers, like Steve Forbes and Bob Dole. Add Newt "divorced my dying wife to take up with my mistress" Gingrich to the list. Willard Romney doesn't have to worry.

let me spell the basics out for you. as most left wingers can't seem to grasp them...please write them down in crayon and hang them on the fridge... a smaller federal government, a financially affordable health care policy (not Obamacare) less taxes for everyone, a clear foreign policy, a common sense and enforced immigration policy that allows entrance into the country for those that meet the requirements.... fixing those wil take from 2013 - 2016 and then we'll see what else needs to be done.
