PHOENIX - A federal judge Friday dismissed Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer's lawsuit that accuses the Obama administration of failing to enforce immigration laws or maintain control of her state's border with Mexico.

The dismissal by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton comes in a counter-lawsuit filed by Brewer as part of the Justice Department's challenge to Arizona's controversial immigration enforcement law.

The Republican governor was seeking a court order that would require the federal government to take extra steps, such as more border fencing, to protect Arizona until the border is controlled.

Her attorneys argued that her lawsuit was necessary to help bring relief to Arizona from the burdens of being a busy illegal entry point into the country.

The governor's lawsuit didn't seek a lump-sum award, but rather asked for policy changes in the way the federal government reimburses states for the costs of jailing illegal immigrants who are convicted of state crimes. Such changes would have given the state more money.

Justice Department lawyers, who asked the judge to throw out the lawsuit, argued that federal court isn't the right place to consider the political questions raised by Brewer.

They also contended that several claims by the governor should be thrown out because a court rejected similar legal claims in a 1994 case brought by Arizona, and an appeals court decision prohibits Brewer from moving forward with her case.

The Justice Department sued the state of Arizona last year in a bid to invalidate Arizona's immigration enforcement law. Bolton put key parts of the law on hold, such as a provision requiring police, while enforcing other laws, to question a person's immigration status if officers had "reasonable suspicion" the person was in the country illegally.

Brewer has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear her appeal of Bolton's ruling.

This is one thing I am totally against concerning President Obama. I applaud states stepping up to stop the massive problem of illegal immigration. I can't understand how liberals can bully their way but if a moderate, middle of the road idea is presented, it is fought all the way. I believe the vast majority of Americans are Moderate and they need to step up to Liberals and Neo-Conservatives and tell them to shove it.

Obama is so happy that he's gonna go out dancing with the President of Mexico to celebrate. Hillary Clinton on the other hand is so concerned about American security that she's thinking of resigning from the Obama cabinet over this. Unlike Obama, she actually understands that undefended borders and open immigration are the biggest threats to America's security. Doesn't she?? I mean, she's over in Pakistan lecturing them about terrorism coming from that country--she wouldn't be dumb enough to still give the terrorists the 2 things they need most, namely open immigration and non-enforcement of American immigration law.

This Country is going down the crapper. We have laws in place and on the books to deal with illegal immigration, yet the Obama administration refuses to enforce them. When a State does the right thing and tries to enforce the laws, Obamas appointed judges rules against the State. America, wake up- these courts are gonna turn against you next! All of these illegals are coming here for free stuff. Take a look at Greece and see what happens with Socialism. The so-called free stuff is a dead end. When the good life goes away here in America, the free-loaders are going to go back home and laugh their butts off at us. They have a win-win situation and we are paying for it.

Think federal judges are honest and try to uphold the law?

Consider also what just happened in a federal court in Texas. A Dallas business owner was involved in a civil dispute and paid millions of dollars to lawyers, and when he objected to additional fees after settling the case, they had a "friendly" judge seize all of his possessions, without any notice or hearing, and essentially ordered him under "house arrest" as an involuntary servant to the lawyers. The business owner has been under this "servant" order for 10 months and is prohibited from owning any possessions, prohibited from working, etc..

...and some quotes from the judge:

THE COURT: "I'm telling you don't scr-w with me. You are a fool, a fool, a fool, a fool to scr-w with a federal judge, and if you don't understand that, I can make you understand it. I have the force of the Navy, Army, Marines and Navy behind me."

THE COURT: "You realize that order is an order of the Court. So any failure to comply with that order is contempt, punishable by lots of dollars, punishable by possible jail, death"
