The History Channel miniseries "The Bible" has been a hit in the ratings, but it's also grabbing attention because of the actor playing Satan -- and the public figure some viewers think he resembles.

After actor Mohamen Mehdi Ouazanni's first appearance as Satan in "The Bible" aired on Sunday, a number of viewers took to Twitter to say that he bears a resemblance to President Barack Obama.

One person who took notice was conservative commentator Glenn Beck, who tweeted on Thursday, "The bible on the history channel Sunday. Best episode yet. Don't miss it. Does satan look EXACTLY like Obama? Y e s!"

Then over the weekend he tweeted:

Ouazanni has appeared in several other biblically-themed productions, including the TV movies "The Ten Commandments," "In the Beginning" and "David."

"The Bible," created by reality show producer Mark Burnett ("Survivor," "The Voice") and his wife, actress Roma Downey, drew 13.1 million viewers when it premiered earlier this month, making it cable's most-watched entertainment telecast of 2013. The 10-hour miniseries concludes on Easter Sunday.

What a bunch of crap. Yeah, one could possibly see a slight resemblance, but this means nothing. No hidden message, agenda, etc., with maybe just one exception. This discussion could help to remind people of a greater possibility- that it is not a matter of this actor, (in his role as SATAN) resembling Obama that matters. It is that Obama might in-fact actually be the actor. That he may actually be Satan himself playing the role of a true American Citizen, the defender U.S. Constitution, and Greatest Nation on Earth? Just a thought!!!

Chavez will be in Communist Hades to greet Obama someday.

I wonder if the producers of this series realizes that Jesus should not look like an Anglo-Saxon given his ethnicity? Even if I believed all the facts and superstition surrounding Christianity I would be educated enough to know that, were he groomed in contemporary fashion, he should not look like some Brad Pitt or other American actor!

AND again here we go!!! First it was Jar Jar Binks controversy where "his speech pattern, dreadlocks and bell-bottom pants and vest reminded some of old, unflattering movie stereotypes of blacks." (news quote from Chicago Tribune)

Could we not say History Channel are painting Moroccan men as evil since they chose a Moroccan to play Satan? My opinion is that people are looking for connections and meanings not everything is motivated by race, religion or culture. Sometimes maybe just sometimes the studio just makes a movie for entertainment purposes and does not even think about such things.

Our culture has become so over sensitive that we ourselves have become the problem.

The only reason why you or any other (I'm assuming your European)so called white person can say this is because the European is always being displayed as the greatest people on Earth. If color or ethnicity didn't matter then why make Jesus a European when we all know that Europeans need protection from the sun in order to survive that climate. The Europeans wants to white wash everything that the indigenous people of color done. First the Pharaohs, then Jesus now I'm hearing that the Moors that controlled Spain for of 700 years were a mix of so called white Northern Africans and Berbers. Oh, and we can't forget the Jews...
