She said that message is "especially important for our young people" and thanked Hollywood for encouraging children "to open their imaginations."

The first lady was introduced by Jack Nicholson, who noted that the best picture trophy is usually announced solo.

Mrs. Obama wore a silver, art deco-inspired gown by Indian-born American fashion designer Naeem Khan. It was the same dress she wore for the Obamas' dinner with the nation's governors at the White House on Sunday night.

I was glad she was there. Just another example of why she and the President are in touch with America, while the GOP and it's supporters are clueless. and dumb.

I found this Entertainment article on the POLITICS threads. It should not have been there. Moochelle is part of the Entertainment Industry because the Obama's own them lock stock and barrel. Her husband and Uncle Joe should be found in Comedy Clubs. Obama being the puppet master and Biden the puppet. They tell so many funny ones it is unbelievable.

Will someone please tell this ridiculous creature that SHE WAS NOT ELECTED TO ANYTHING! Your job is to keep your mate as happy as you (in your limited, really physically plain sort of way) possibly can. SO SHUT UP, GO UPSTAIRS AND DO WHAT YOU CAN FOR THOSE TERRIBLY UNFORTUNATE THINGS YOU REFER TO AS "CHILDREN!" BTW, your arms are plain UGLY -- get some sleeves, you hag!

Some surprise, alright What a lot of guts and gall. That's right, take one more freedom away from us. Now we can't even watch an awards show without political garbage thrown down our throats. People go to the movies to get away from the every day insanity. They want to be entertained. Bad hosts, poor grand opening. Now David Letterman can say that he wasn't the worst host. Even Ricky J., was better. The only great thing was the musical parts when the cast from Les Miserable did their performance, Miss Hudson, Barbara and Adele was fantastic.Other wise it was very tacky. And to put the icing on the cake, Nicholson had to hand the reading of best picture to Michelle Obama, dressed to the hilt with hair and makeup with an honor guard, I was so sick and disgusted. Now I can't even look forward to the awards any more, for fear they'll shove more political agenda down our throats. Does she want to go into acting now?! Stay out of our music, books, entertainment, etc. Do your job and fix this country.

Michelle Obama: "For the First Time in My Adult Lifetime, I'm Really Proud of My Country"
Then she and Barry attended Rev. Wrights anti-American and racist Church for over 20 years and has had so many opportunities like going to college and be coming a lawyer(an unethical and crooked one) yet she never felt like and American until her hubby ran for president.
She's an ungrateful racist like Rev Wright.
Since when did the FLOTUS duties include going on late night talk shows and making a fool of herself or attending the Oscars to announce the Best Picture? She behaves more like she wants to be in show Biz like her talentless minion Beyonce out there shaking and gyrating her humongous posterior on stage. The same goes for OBOZO.
Two song and dance buffoons who should be in Hollywood and definately not in the White House.

Nero fiddled while he burnt down Rome.
The Obamas sing and dance while they also destroy our economy and spit on the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

This is an outrageous disrespect to our country. We are in major debt. Americans seeking Unemployment Benefits just went up another 20,000. We are still conducting the War on Terror, War in Afghanistan, War in North-West Pakistan, Operation Enduring Freedom: Philippines, Horn of Africa & Trans Sahara. We are hemorrhaging money yet the Obamas are praised for how they spend it.

I sure the dress wasn't cheap, I'm sure the security for the filming wasn't cheap plus there had to have been a hairstylist, make-up artist and food for crew and service members.

But let's not concern ourselves with the bill this First Family has been raking up. Who cares if it cost the tax payers over 15 million EACH time they go to Hawaii. Let's keep handing out those bonuses and pension plans! Lets keep leasing drill rights in the Gulf to foreign countries and ban ourselves from putting people to work! Let's keep lying about the FOIA results! And let's keep attacking the anonymity of the internet!

Because who really cares.

We're a fancy forward thinking country. We have the cool half black president who travels the world as much as he wants. We the people, the 42%, can continue living paycheck to paycheck.

for the last 50 or so years, I personally have read newspapers, watched TV news programs, and for the last 15 or so, been online. Never in all those years, even during the 60's and 70's civil rights actions, have I seen such drivel and unabashed hatred for a person in public office as our current President. Racism, bigotry and garden variety hatred for this person and his family is rampant! Doesn't matter what they do, who they talk to, play golf with or invite to the WH, the loquacious babbling of the idiot masses are the ones heard to squall the loudest, unfortunately. Everything's a conspiracy! From school shootings to the recent asteroid/meteor is Obama's doing!

Americans now hate everyone - Muslims, Jews, Blacks, Latinos, Native Americans, Indian immigrants, Pakistanis, children of all colors and especially, women; particularly women of color. What we need to to 'hate' is poverty, deaths due to lack of medical care, child abuse, elderly abuse, lack of quality for all persons, regardless of sex, race or sexual orientation. Some people spend all their energy sending negative messages, rather than a positive response to each new day! What one sends out comes back...no wonder America is sliding downhill at an alarming rate. We are becoming the next best thing to a third world country.

Apparently, you were asleep during Bush's two terms. Some of most vitriolic hatred for a president I ever saw.
