Mindy McCready's death confirmed as suicide: Autopsy

Authorities say preliminary autopsy results confirm country music singer Mindy McCready's death was a suicide.

The Cleburne County sheriff said in a statement Wednesday that preliminary autopsy results from Arkansas' state crime lab show McCready's death was a suicide from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators have said McCready apparently shot and killed her late boyfriend's dog before she turned the gun on herself Sunday at her home. Authorities found McCready's body and the dog on the front porch where her longtime boyfriend, musician David Wilson, died last month of a gunshot wound to the head.

Private investigator Danno Hanks, who knew McCready for several years, told CNN that the singer called him last Saturday about an email she received from the Department of Human Services' Division of Children and Family Services. Hanks said McCready had revealed that the note included a proposed court order that would remover her two young boys from her care. The proposed order would have sent them to live in Florida with McCready's mother.

"Saturday was a very bad day for her," Hanks said. "The proposed court order was the nail in her coffin, the thing that sent her over the edge.

A memorial service is being planned for McCready in Nashville.

Authorities, meanwhile, are investigating Wilson's death as a suicide but haven't determined an official cause of death yet.

So they have confirmed Mindy's death as a suicide, but not the boyfriends??

This doesn't make sense to me. He also had a single shot to the head. Now, they may not know for sure it was suicide, but surely they must know the cause of death. Unless they are thinking he could have died from something else and the shot to the head, making it look like suicide, was just a cover up.
