BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. Police in Beverly Hills say Chris Brown escaped injury after crashing his Porsche into a wall while being chased by paparazzi.

Lt. Lincoln Hoshino said the collision occurred around noon Saturday. Brown told police that he lost control of his black Porsche during the chase.

Hoshino said police will investigate the incident. He said he didn't know whether the paparazzi in the pursuing vehicles have been identified.

A call to Brown's lawyer was not immediately returned.

A representative for Brown told CNN: "The occupants jumped out, with cameras, and aggressively approached his vehicle. In an effort to remove himself from the situation, he began to back down an alley, at which point his was cut off by two additional vehicles."

The crash came a day before the Grammy Awards, where Brown is up for best urban contemporary album.

Last week, Brown briefly returned to a Los Angeles court to face probation issues stemming from the 2009 beating of pop singer Rihanna, but the judge has asked for additional reports and scheduled another hearing in two months.

Brown was accompanied Wednesday afternoon by Rihanna, who blew him a kiss as he went into the courtroom. They also left together after the brief proceeding. The two have reunited and started dating again, and Rihanna recently opened up about their relationship in an interview with Rolling Stone.

Prosecutors are seeking to revoke Brown's probation because they say they could not find credible evidence he completed his community labor sentence.

I think that paparazzi are scum. That said, Chris Brown was the only one in control of his vehicle. NOBODY made him drive the way he was driving, just like NOBODY made Justin Bieber drive like an idiot when he was supposedly running from paparazzi. No one outside of your vehicle can affect your control. PERIOD!

And before somebody responds with "but what if they hit your vehicle?" I'll add that I'm talking about a chase scenario.

I'm surprised there aren't more car accidents caused by the paparazzi.

If the woman he beat can forget and forgive, why can't the public. He paid for what he did and it set his career back by several years. He was almost forgotten till this comeback.

People are defined by their actions and judged accordingly. Based upon his past, Chris Brown is, at best, a complete d-bag, and at worst, pure, unadulterated evil. As far as redemption is concerned, when have you ever known a tiger to change its stripes? Only a fool would forgive this idiot.

It's funny to read some of these comments on here. When Princess Diana was killed in that crash because of paparazzi chasing her, everyone was up in arms about it. This kid is trying to get away and people crucify him. I bet people would of have a different approach if he would of have the same ending as Pricess Diana.

Chris should leave LA. He knows what's there and celebs like him feed into it.

Princess Diana's driver was drunk, so his judgement and driving ability was impaired.

They were also speeding so fast that when they hit the 13th pillar in the tunnel, both the driver and Dodi Fayed had their spines broken and their aortas ripped (which is what killed both of them).

Some reports tried to say they were only going around 65mph at impact (in a 31mph zone), but given that the car they were in was a state of the art, tank-like W140 Mercedes S-600 class, many called BS on that and estimated they were actually traveling closer to 120mph, which is where the analog speedometer needle was stuck at.

One of the things that upset people then too was that the paparazzi didn't help Princess Diana in the wreckage. Instead of helping her in the wreck, they took photos instead. The paramedics had to move the paparazzi out of the way just to get Princess Diana out.
