Streep, who has a record 17 Oscar nominations to her name, won the best actress award last year for portraying British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady." Dujardin took the best actor prize for his role as a fading silent film star in "The Artist." It was his first nomination and win.
Spencer earned her first nomination -- and the supporting actress prize -- for her role as a headstrong maid in 1960s Mississippi in "The Help."
And the Oscar nominees are ...
The twice-nominated Plummer won in the supporting actor category for his portrayal of an elderly widower who comes out as gay in "Beginners." The win, which was Plummer's first, made him the oldest Academy Award acting winner in history at 82 years old.
The Academy Awards will be presented on Feb. 24 in a ceremony hosted by Seth MacFarlane and broadcast live on ABC beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
