Tina Fey could be heading back to high school -- the "30 Rock" star says she wants to adapt her hit comedy "Mean Girls" into a musical.
Fey spoke to E! News at Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards -- where she won best actress in a comedy series for "30 Rock" -- and discussed the possibility of the 2004 film hitting the stage.
"Maybe! We want to. I would love to," she said on the red carpet. "I'm trying to develop it with my husband [Jeff Richmond], who does all the music for '30 Rock' and I think Paramount's on board."
Fey also weighed in on the war of words between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj during a recent episode of "American Idol," which included the two judges referencing "Mean Girls."
"I loved it! And I think Mariah won. Mariah seemed to really know all the characters," she said, adding, "Maybe she can play Amy Poehler's part in the musical."
The "30 Rock" series finale airs Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
