Nine-time U.S. national figure skating champion Michelle Kwan became a married woman today, People reports.

According to the news source, the ceremony incorporated the same song that Kwan, 32, skated to during the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games -- Fields of Gold.

Kwan reportedly wed director for strategic planning on the National Security staff at the White House, Clay Pell, 31, in an ivory Vera Wang gown at the First Unitarian Church of Providence, R.I. Pell, who is a JAG and Lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard, was in uniform for the exchanging of vows, according to People.

Olympic champions Brian Boitano, Dick Button and Dorothy Hamill were reportedly counted in the 240 family and friends who attended the wedding.

I love to watch ice skating but she was probably the last skater I really watched. Most of them since then have been what I call "plastic princesses". All of them look the same, skate the same, great uniformity but little to catch your attention. Have we won many world championships recently? Maybe that's why.

Again a high profile female in the Asian community has married someone other than an Asian. My wife has 3 very successful Asian brothers that have all had to travel to China in order to find a wife having been rejected for not being "white" enough. Seems Asian women interested in about everybody but Asian men!

what difference does it make...she is white in the inside anyway...probably has no knowledge of her ancestry or understanding of chinese...she is white on the inside anyway. also, odds are that she will get divorced within 3-4 yrs.
