Former Louisiana Gov. Edwin Edwards will star on a new cable TV show alongside the woman he married after his release from federal prison on a corruption conviction.

In a Facebook exchange Friday, Trina Scott Edwards told The Associated Press she's currently filming for "The Governor's Wife," which will showcase the 34-year-old wife of the octogenarian former governor.

According to A&E, the series will follow Trina Edwards as she tries to fit into the former governor's upscale world while trying to get along with step-daughters almost twice her age and corral her own teenage sons.

The series will include Edwin Edwards' daughters: Anna, a 62-year-old, four-time divorcee, and Victoria, whom A&E described in a news release as "a hardened 60-year-old ex-showgirl."

Trina has sons from a previous marriage, Logan, 15 and Trevor, 13.

Edwin Edwards served four terms as a Democratic governor in the 1970s, '80s and '90s. He married Trina in July 2011, shortly after his release from federal prison, where  he  was  serving time  for his role in a bribery and extortion scheme to rig riverboat casino licenses during his fourth term in the early 1990s.

Trina, who went by Trina Grimes Scott at the time, began writing him letters while he was in prison and visited him regularly. She is Edwards' third wife.

"The Governor's Wife" premieres Feb. 27 at 9 p.m. CST on A&E.

Any reporter want a story on Edwin denying paternity of being my biological father? I will submit to DNA, my mother will testify. I will supply all correspondense over the years with Edwin and a little with Trina. Sure would make a good Season 2 start eh?

Only Hollywood could glamorize this type of situation. Of course, liberal Hollywood likes a good Dem governor-criminal. He cant be all bad, right? Since he is a Democrat. Hollywood takes care of their "own".

Garbage writing, why bother? For anyone reading this, what is the most basic question that is the counterpoint for the whole story? What question do you not have answered here by the idiot writing it? What incredibly BASIC information was left out? What is Edwin Edwards age, stupid. We're told his has 60 yr old daughters and a 34 yr old wife, obviously the author is playing this off as newsworthy, but doesn't tell us how old Edwards is, DUHHHHHHHHHHH.
