George Lucas: "Star Wars" creator engaged to Mellody Hobson

A spokeswoman for Lucasfilm Ltd. says the 68-year-old director is engaged to 43-year-old investment firm president Mellody Hobson. No other details were provided.

Hobson serves as chairman of DreamWorks Animation and is a financial contributor to ABC's "Good Morning America."

Lucas helped to launch the modern blockbuster age with his "Star Wars" sagas and "Indiana Jones" adventures. The original "Star Wars" still stands as the No. 2 film in terms of tickets sold domestically, behind only "Gone with the Wind."

Actually, in the photo above, she looks genuinely happy (or at least has a perfect smile -- I can't read into her eyes to deduce if she's posing or not).

But it's safe to say he looks like he's in la-la land... or maybe he's not photogenic.

and, most important,y Lucas went to Congress in 1988 to call anyone who alters classics films as "barbarians"...

http://www.slashfilm.com/george-lucas-speaks-altering-films-1988/

Actual quote:

"People who alter or destroy works of art and our cultural heritage for profit or as an exercise of power are barbarians" - George Lucas.

Funny how the article pimps up Lucas's modern film making but conveniently fails to make it, *cough*, "fair and balanced"... not that FOX Noise would either...

Steady... you've been duped. Fox is about the GOP and not about the truth.

Need an example? (There are thousands.) OK... they changed the term "suicide bombers" to "Homicide bombers" because they didn't want to give any credence to the bomber. Yet, that IS a political view. Those bombers DO commit suicide. A homicide bomber does not give the full story. So, they edit it based on a perceived POLITICAL view. In other words... They are propagandists.

Growing up in the 40's and 50's doesn't make you a bigot, that's a cop-out from narrow minded people. What truly amazes me is the negativity. Yeah, George Lucas is rich, I imagine she's quite comfortable, too. So what? I bet they have pre-nups up the whazoo. If they're happy, why does anyone care about age, color or worth? Congratulations to them both!

Lucas did some hard work and got an f/x laden b-flick to be popular. There's nothing unethical about how he started, but since "Star Wars" he did sue one of the f/x people who did "Battlestar Galactica", and after his 1988 rant to congress, decided to be an outright hypocrite and trash his own movies, and turning himself into what he described others that did the same thing as being: "Barbarian". 1988. See my post above. Look it up. Facts are not useless things.
