Stars on Broadway

The Theresa Rebeck's drama will close on Jan. 6 after 27 previews and 44 performances, the show's producers announced Thursday.

The show, which opened to poor reviews on Nov. 29, stars Norbert Leo Butz as Holmes' onstage brother who returns to his Midwest home with a secret. Rebeck created the first season of NBC's "Smash" and several well-received plays including "Seminar" and "Mauritius."

New York magazine's critic Scott Brown said "Nothing ever gets cooking in 'Dead Accounts,' because Rebeck is far more interested in executing a simple, schematic plan for gentle amusement than in plumbing the depths she hints at."

But, Ben Brantley of The New York Times said Homles' appears to be "more at ease" in "Dead Accounts" than in her Broadway debut four years ago in Arthur Miller's "All My Sons."

Holmes, who became a star in the teen soap opera "Dawson's Creek," was married to Tom Cruise from 2006 until this year.

IDEA FOR NEXT CASTING CALL FOR AMAZING RACE....

TEAMS COMPLETE STRANGERS WITH COMPLETELY DIFFERENT VIEWS..

Wouldn't it be AMAZING to see two people cooperate with each other, yet do not share anything in common and do not share any values

Ie: macho man with a feminist,
environmentalist/big time consumer
racist/lover of all
Christian/atheist
homophobic/gay
Working mom/stay at home mom
World traveler/never left his hometown
You get the idea,,,,,
