Fans and family members will gather on Wednesday to celebrate the life of Jenni Rivera at a memorial service being billed as a "celestial graduation."
Jenni Rivera: 1969-2012
"We will celebrate the graduation into heaven, with honors, of our beloved mother, daughter and sister," the family said in a statement.
One of the Latin pop star's five brothers, Pedro Rivera Jr., will lead the 10 a.m. service at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles.
Rivera and six others died Dec. 9 in a northern Mexico plane crash that remains under investigation.
Free tickets to the public memorial service were quickly snapped up Tuesday afternoon. The Gibson amphitheater holds up to 6,100 people.
Rivera's burial will be private.
