Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2012: Angels walk the runway

Music and fashion have started to take center stage at CBS' Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, as some of the world's top models begin to walk the catwalk for Tuesday's one-hour lingerie-filled TV special.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2012 highlights

Taped Nov. 8 in New York, the 2012 event features Victoria Secret "Angels" Doutzen Kroes, Adriana Lima, Joan Smalls, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldrige, Erin Heatherton, among other models.

This year's star-studded special kicked off with an announcer noting that Victoria's Secret and CBS had each donated to superstorm Sandy relief efforts. The announcement also thanked the National Guard members based out of the Lexington Avenue Armory in Manhattan, where the annual show takes place.

The 2012 special also includes performances by Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Bruno Mars, who sing alongside Victoria's Secret models.

"It's like a dream come true," Bieber said before the show. "I would rather be here than anywhere in the world." Shortly after the show's taping, there were reports that Bieber was cozying up with Victoria's Secret model Barbara Palvin.

Alessandra Ambrosio dons the jewel-heavy $2.5 million "Fantasy Bra." Created by London Jewelers, it features amethysts, rubies, sapphires and diamonds, including a 20-carat white diamond in the center.

Karlie Kloss was wearing a Native American headdress. Once the pictures of the show started leaking, some Native American groups were upset with the choice, causing Victoria's Secret to release a statement apologizing to Native Americans and promising to pull the outfit from the broadcast, ads, publicity campaigns etc.

Angels? Oh, yeah, right. Give me a break. CBS should be ASHAMED. They broadcast this show,with women in what looks like bondage outfits, barely there bras, etcetera, etcetera, and yet they BLOCKED a beautiful, full-bodied LANE BRYANT model's commercial??? Equal time is fair play CBS. As for V's Secret??? I won't support them...pun intended;-)

The Fashion show was awesome - singers were the best - just wish Justin Beiber would get him some different pants. Love the girls. This year they played them up as regular people with the little side bars. They are georgeous! You can tell they are very happy with what they do, and down to earth. Great job everyone!

Although Victoria's Secret does make nice stuff, a lot of the models have little or no curves. The look like guys with glands. Almost no hips or waist.

I 100% agree; they took these models off of a Paris runway. They look nothing like real women and definitely look nothing like the Angels of the past. Most these women look anorexic and that is putting it mildly. I don't know who they think they are selling to, but definitely not people in the U.S. Men drive sales for Victoria Secret either directly through gifts or indirectly through expectations. I am the only male in my house and without me saying a word all the girls were literally covering their eyes and then purposely trying to look at only the faces of the models. Its sad that the last place where women look more like real women has gone down to the look of the heroin addict.

Well "angles" is actually a word, so spell check would not catch that. You would have to be another human, like one of us, reading it in context, to note the error.
