Duchess Kate dons old dress, new haircut at museum exhibit opening

It was something old and something new for the Duchess of Cambridge on Tuesday.

Kate, 30, wore a familiar ensemble and a different haircut when she attended the opening of the Treasures gallery at London's Natural History Museum.

The dress was a green silk dress by Mulberry, which she wore to the launch of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee celebrations at Buckingham Palace last November. She paired the dress, which features a pattern of peace signs, with black heels.

While the ensemble was recycled, her hairstyle was not. Kate was photographed at the event with sweeping fringe in her brown locks, which British papers noted appeared darker than normal.

Speaking at the event, Kate said, "The Natural History Museum has a very special place in the heart of this nation. William and I are just two of millions of people who have passed through these doors, and marveled at the spectacular wonders of the natural world, housed in this beautiful gallery."

"I care passionately about what this museum stands for," she added, according to the Daily Mail. "Being here tonight, seeing some of nature's finest treasures, reminds me just how precious and aw- inspiring the natural world is."

The Treasures gallery opens to the public on Nov. 30.
