Lindsay Lohan is reportedly "devastated" over the harsh reviews her Lifetime movie "Liz & Dick" received.

The film, which was supposed to be the 26-year-old's comeback after legal troubles, was panned by most critics.

"Lindsay is devastated by the response to the film," a "close friend" of the actress told The Huffington Post. "She has got used to all the negative press around her personal life but this is the first time she has experienced it about her work."

The Hollywood Reporter called Lohan "woeful" as Elizabeth Taylor. THR also called the film "an instant classic of unintentional hilarity," saying "drinking games were made for movies like this."

The New York Times said Lohan was "sleepwalking through scenes that call for passion and caprice."

The source told the Huffington Post that Lohan felt she could bring something to the role of Taylor, even though she thought the script was weak.

"This is particularly heartbreaking as her acting was the only thing in her life that she knew was real. Now she is doubting that, too," the source told the Huffington Post.

It's the typical 'kicke'm while they're down' mentality going on. Somehow sharks like to emphasise their lowly power by gaining up on a lone bait. In this case if someone thinks they can get someone to agree with them then they are socially acceptable, it helps their egos no matter how little. In the first place, quit making the movies so quickly, give the bodies time to cool off and the fame to become history. Not Hollywood, they have to jump on things very quickly and spoil them by making us so sick of the event or person we can't stand to watch. I don't care who plays the lead it's too soon and to hard to copy a legend. Give Lindsay a break and be glad it's not you taking the heat.

"Give Lindsay a break..."

Lindsay has had too many "breaks". That is the problem.

I really wanted to watch this movie. I did for 10 mins. then turned it off. Lindsay's acting was dull. I've seen her in a couple of her early movies and thought she did a great job, but she was poorly cast in this role. Her portrayal was not even close.

Lindsay needs to stick to the things she does best: alcohol, drugs, clubbing, driving under the influence, getting into car accidents, getting into legal trouble...
