He's being remembered for his long-running role on CBS' "Dallas," portraying J.R. Ewing, one the greatest villains in TV history. But Hagman appears to have made a lasting mark on his fellow actors and other people he met through the years, too.

His "I Dream of Jeannie" co-star Barbara Eden remembered Hagman in a Facebook post: "He was such a key element in my life for so long and even, years after I Dream of Jeannie; our paths crossed many times." She added, "I, like many others believed he had beat Cancer and yet we are reminded that life is never guaranteed."

Linda Gray, who portrayed J. R.'s wife, Sue Ellen, on "Dallas," wrote: "Larry Hagman was my best friend for 35 years. He was the Pied Piper of life and brought joy to everyone he knew. He was creative, funny, loving and talented, and I will miss him enormously. He was an original and lived life to the full. The world was a brighter place because of Larry."

Larry King wrote that Hagman "helped me to stop smoking," and John Stamos tweeted: "sat next to larry hagman on a plane- if some1 asked for autograph he'd ask for a joke as payment. was really cute (up until 24th one)."
