"The X Factor" sent two more contestants home on Thursday, narrowing the field down to just eight singing hopefuls.

Two young contenders got the boot in the latest double elimination round: Arin Ray, 17, and Beatrice Miller, 13.

Ray was the first to go, as he had the fewest votes.

When co-host Khloe Kardashian asked Ray's coach, Britney Spears, if she had any parting words, the pop star said, "You know, I think you should just take this as a learning experience, and I think this isn't the last people will hear from you."

The next lowest-ranked contestants were Miller and CeCe Frey. They ended up battling it out for one last chance by performing a "song for survival."

Frey sang Kelly Clarkson's "Because of You," and Miller attempted Dido's "White Flag." Judges Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, L.A. Reid and Spears chimed in on the contestants' performances, but in the end, Miller couldn't muster up enough support.

"I'm sorry," Reid said, as Miller tried to fight back tears during the live Thanksgiving night show.

The evening also featured a performance by Cher Lloyd, winner of the the U.K.'s "X Factor."

Why oh why oh why do they not send that weeping, crybaby CeCe home?..she could not sing the first time I heard her and she still cannot sing...She is pathetic...and the way she dresses....Who votes for her???they must be tone deaf...I am with you KentGoldings, I am voting for Tate to win....I, too, love all the other contestants, but I try to think if I could sit through a concert and Tate would be my choice....he is just a good old boy...I love him.

I think Arin Ray and Beatrice Miller were the right singers to be sent home last night. All my officemates at DISH are still waiting for the day CeCe goes home though. With the acception of CeCe I like all the remaining contestants, and can't wait to see what happens next week. Unfortunately I have class at night next week, so I'll be catching up on X Factor using Prime Time Anytime on my DISH Hopper. My DVR automatically records all the prime time shows on the four major networks for me. It will be interesting to see who does well next week, and I'm pulling for Tate to win it all.
