Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi join Sandy relief fund advisory board

The star power involved in superstorm Sandy relief efforts continues to grow as devastated areas start the rebuilding process.

Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi are among the New Jersey natives joining a special fund created in the wake of Sandy, which hit the U.S. East Coast last month.

The musicians will serve on the advisory board of the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund. The nonprofit was created by state first lady Mary Pat Christie to aid in long-term recovery.

The fund has raised more than $16 million.

Springsteen says he knows people will rally to help neighbors "come back better and stronger."

Bon Jovi says the damage and devastation is unimaginable.

The musicians will join Kelly Ripa of "Live with Kelly and Michael," nationally syndicated talk show host Dr. Mehmet Oz and musician and actor Kevin Jonas on the board.

Springsteen and Bon Jovi will also participate in the upcoming "12-12-12" benefit show at New York's Madison Square to help raise money for the cause. Also set to perform are Kanye West, Paul McCartney, Roger Waters, The Who and Alicia Keys. There's a chance The Rolling Stones could perform at the event, too. The rock band has been asked to play, according to Rolling Stone.

Springsteen recently teamed up with President Jimmy Carter for a Habitat for Humanity Sandy-related relief initiative. Check out the clip below:
