New "Oz the Great and Powerful" trailer released

A new trailer for director Sam Raimi's "Oz the Great and Powerful" has been released online.

The Walt Disney Pictures film is a prequel that stars James Franco as a circus magician from Kansas who finds himself in the Land of Oz. In the magical world he encounters three witches, Theodora, (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz), and Glinda (Michelle Williams) and transforms from Oscar to the powerful Wizard of Oz.

The newest trailer shows more of the director's version of Oz, which includes various mystical creatures.

The film is scheduled to be released on March 8, 2013.

Leave it to Disney to destroy a classic children's story. Mary Poppins was the worst travesty (IMHO and if you disagree, I suspect you have not read the books) but I may change my vote after this one comes out. But we all love a good visual battle between good and evil, don't we? What would L. Frank Baum think? I suspect he might love this one.
